Season 1: Made to look as intentionally cheap and shitty as possible Season 2: Upgrades the show to high-definition. The curtains have changed to red. The desk looks fancier now. Eric actually has a suit now. There's another plant. Season 3: Changes the set yet again. Eric himself has gotten a new style, looking more like Katt Williams. Season 4: Introduces radical changes to the show. Curtains are grey, the desk has been revamped, and the entire set just seems... filthier.

Just non stop chaos for 40 minutes

Eric’s eternal hell is destroying the set and having it repaired instantly only for him to repeat the process over and over again. This actually gets funnier watching it succession.

Eric Andre is the johnny Knoxville of comedy and he will always make his audience laugh and risk his life doing these crazy and wild stunts, God bless Eric Andre

It seemed like a simple job. Your band had signed a contract to play on some obscure talk show that played late at night on some obscure network, which seemed strange but the pay was decent enough. As you and your bandmates set up, you notice that the two players in front of you are unusually far apart, giving you a clear view of the main stage. Ignoring this, you sit at your drum set and wait for the queue to play. Soon, a voice loudly announced "Ladies and gentlemen, its The Eric Andre Show!", and you begin to play, all while a man in a gray suit runs onto the stage and jumps off the guest chair, lunging into the logo board hanging from the ceiling. You continue to play even as he begins to destroy the set, unsure if he was screaming out of frustration or just to add to the chaos. Even while watching him, you barely have time to react as he rushes toward you, tackling you to the ground and destroying the backdrop. After punching you in the gut a few times, he runs back onto the main stage, leaving you laying back on the ground in shock and awe. This is the tenth night this has happened. As you try to process what had happened, you hear your band mates relentlessly continue to play, even as the sounds coming from the stage become increasingly surreal. You don't see what happens, as you're too afraid to look down, but based on the sounds you decide that you're better off not looking. As you push yourself back onto the stage, the man who attacked you sits down in his seat, somehow spared from destruction, and pants hard from exhaustion. Fresh curtains fall behind him, covering the debris of the previous set, while a new guest chair, desk, and bookcase are pushed in from offscreen. Finally, a new logo board falls from the ceiling, hanging in the air. The only indication of what happened is the small bits of the set still on the floor. You watch as he calms down at his new desk, his face glistening with sweat. Every night he trashes the set, tackles you, and does more exceedingly strange things, only for things to reset at the beginning of the show. You now realize that you were never told when the contract was up. And that's when it hits you: you're just as trapped as he is now.

He seems very calm and content

I feel like there's symbolism with the Wolf that Eric encounters. In the later season openings it seems he's gone from trying to change the inevitable by trying everything in his power to stop the show from happening to almost being content with his eternal purgatory that he has to life the rest of his life as a talk show host and the wolf being a sense of inner peace or acceptance of oneself. Or perhaps this wolf represents the metaphor of two wolves living inside Eric, one of destruction and darkness, the other of light and hope, either this represents the fact that Eric has accepted that this talk show will forever be his darkness and will never change the inevitable, or it could represent a fleeting glimmer of light that Eric will finally be at peace with himself in due time. After it disappears, Eric seems discontent with his destruction and seats himself ready for the talk show, either finding a sort of peace of mind with his situation, or a sense of despair that he'll never be free from his personal hell; a sort of ambiguous end to an unseen chapter of an opening like this one. Still trying to figure out the Sprite part.

You have to realize it doesn't actually say Sprite. It's made to look like it says Sprite, but it says Spiite. As in, spite. I think your analysis is overall one of the better ones, one I for the most part agree with, however I'd argue that he *accepts* *despair*. Hence the mix of emotions you described. He does finally reach a sense of peace, a sense of peace with never being at peace.

The first time I saw the Eric Andre show I was flipping through the channels on Atlanta cable one night in 2011 or 2012, or whatever. I stopped on Adult Swim, to this... just... THIS. It totally blew my mind. Like it was some incredible farcical joke they put on just to fuck with people. What a wonder!

If you look close, you see the drummer getting ready to get up and leave when Eric throws the drum each time. I think most of the time its a dummy in the chair in place of the drummer that is placed there quickly.
