Pokémon Pink isn’t even confirmed as a real thing. There’s some code in Pokémon yellow that uses the term “Pokémon pink” but it could have just been a place holder because the code was based on the original games which had lines referring to each games counterpart. We literally have no evidence of the game actually being developed

Yellow Version does not have a yellow tint like Red or Blue, rather every town has its own unique color palate that switch as you travel

There's also an item in gen 5 in the data called the God Stone, which looks exactly like the Light and Dark Stones, only it's greyish. Probally was meant to link to Kyruem and possibally would have been used in what would have been Grey, but nothing came out of it.

Plus the 3rd & final season of the Pokemon XY anime was literally called XYZ. So I don’t blame others for wanting Pokemon Z along with XY since i hear a lot of areas in the Kalos region feels very incomplete & Pokemon Z would’ve fixed those, hopefully the upcoming Legends Z-A will do Kalos justice & I’m really excited for potential new Mega Evolutions

The fact that pokemon silver/gold didn't include female characters and it was only added in silver proves that if pink ever did exist it wasn't very far along in development at the very least it didn't get to the part where it actually added girls, since if they had the framework for girls already because of pink it would have been in gold/silver.

I never had Black 2 and Ultra Moon back then. But I eventually got them later.

damn heartgold was closer to the original games' releases than it is to the current. yet its still so good and what we want.

Pokemon Grey could come up as a Legends game later, where we could still get the concept of the one Dragon

I really wanted the Sinnoh remakes made by GameFreak.

Hate that Nintendo went the way of doing numbered sequels with white 2 and black 2 instead of doing the third complete version like emerald and platinum. I remember being excited for gray and z versions only to be let down. I get the whole financial aspect but that’s a massive disservice to the fans.

It makes sense from a business standpoint though; the mere existence of a definitive game limits the sales of the previous versions. Making a sequel boosts sales because if you want the full story, you will have to buy the new game too, instead of skipping on it because it is the same story but with minor differences.

Z was one of those things I never understood. We didn't get pokemon grey in gen 5 so why were people automatically expecting a pokemon Z? They abandoned the 3rd game trend starting in gen 5 and haven't gone back to it since thankfully.

Gen 5 was also a more dramatic departure from the previous games than Gen 6 was (jump to 3D aside) I wouldn’t blame people for thinking “okay we’re done being quirky like Unova was, so we’re back to normal” which at the time included a 3rd game a few years down the line

Um Grey, Black 2, Whit 2, and Grey 2?… There’s no reason why they couldn’t release grey. That started the unfortunate trend of definitive games never being released again. It’s still stupid that two verrry worse versions of a gen are released first as a cash grab. At least the modern titles are more fleshed out with them knowing that a third, definitive, combined copy will not be released.

it doesn't remain a mystery why Z was never created. 2015 lacked a mainline game because they spent that year trying to develop new ips such as pocket card jockey as their only ongoing series was pokemon and at the time pokemon was steaily on a decline in sales with almost every game so they wanted to diversify

They could always make pokemon pink and fill it with pokemon and things girl gamers like and base it in a brand new region; while making another game or two more focused on the boys or neutral intention and fill it/them with things that more boys/people want by sacrificing a lot of the things in Pink. eg: Pink Radiant Bloom; Veridian {sea moss green} Land Crash; Garnet {yellow} Sky Shutter I can forgive {cool} Grey for not being made but gen 6 players were robbed for Z not being made and still seethe. And there still hasn't been any mention of a new Ranger game, which is ridiculous as they are now twice the amount of regions and pokemon available since GS.
