Every American Bully Breeder's Worst Nightmare - Raw Reality Of Delivering Puppies

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Not every litter you deliver will be a smooth process. Most times your dam will deliver all her pups and everything will be rosie. But there are other times when things don't go as intended. Breeding dogs is easy. Delivering puppies can have it's challenges. In this video i highlight the realities of dog labor and puppy delivery. We like to let nature take it's course and let mom handle all the work, But sometimes we need to step in. Most times is only to assist and getting mom and pup easier access to each other or helping a pup get to his nipple. There are other cases where it gets more intense. In the case of pups that are stuck, pups born weak or lifeless, or many other do labor complications, hands on and experience can be the difference between life and death for the pup or serious complications for the mom. A good understanding of the process is very important at the time of labor. I hope this video helps you understand a lil of the process of dog labor and delivery.

Wait my dog's litter includes 1 girl 3 boys and 2 of three boys them tried to hump her. I couldn't tell if she rebuked him or not because I got in the way. Are some dogs breeds' maternal instinct similar to ours? I think, no. But this is how dogs act. Well mine at least. Elephants and penguins might share alot of our parental instincts. Maybe other creatures as well but cats and dogs are not one if them when I think of our parental instincts

I am a former Vet Tech and that swinging method is what we were taught to do to help clear the airways when an emergency C-section was performed. The pup/kitten was wrapped in a towel with the whole body secured with both hands and you swing them very similar to the way you did followed by vigorous rubbing. You did a great job and I'm very happy to see Mom and puppies are doing well! CONGRATULATIONS!! 🤗

Do you learn much about dog nutrition in veterinary school? I'd heard that it's not really discussed, regardless how crucial it's shown to be in people, implying it would be just as crucial & beneficial for any species. Just curious because I don't have the experience of veterinary school or medicine. BTW - bless you for your dedication to a species that's not your own. There are probably pitfalls (like lesser communication) that make it challenging. A lot of people would give up the fight. I think it's a honorable dedication. And I love animals! They deserve a lot more than most people tend to give.

Anyone else there wouldnt have done that....but my mom saw a baby and did anything she could to get it breathing.

I helped my lab deliver her 13 pups a few years back. Yes 13 lol. I was 4 months pregnant myself so that was fun. It’s amazing the trust animals have in their owners. I sat there with her all day and supervised while she had her babies, I only stepped in on the very last one. Her last pup was the runt of the litter and I could tell it had some type of facial deformity. Me and Mila tried endlessly to help the puppy, I did CPR, used the bulb syringe to get fluid out but the poor baby was so weak. He ended up passing away and I had him wrapped in a blanket. Every few minutes , Mila would get up and check on him and try to bring him to latch. It was so sad. I was pregnant so of course I was an emotional crying mess. All 12 pups are 4 now and were all adopted out to loving families. I am so happy you were there with her and were able to step in and save that babies life!

I was on the edge of my seat, standing, pacing, sitting, standing, rocking, etc etc etc.!! I would tear up and say OH NO, then I would smile with some relief. My dog gave birth once and it was pretty nerve wracking since the closest vet was 45 min away. So I sat there while giving her some space to birth the pups. She gave birth to 3 beautiful puppies but sadly one died. He wasn't moving when he came out and I rubbed him to get his blood going but it was too late. Rest in peace little Buddy. 😢 Now the puppies are grown and we've been on many adventures. I love em all.

If you are a first time breeder or not even a breeder your dog just happened to get pregnant and now this is your first litter of pups you’ve had it’s good to read as much as you can and learn everything on what to expect. This puppy was lucky that the owner knew what to do. So many people don’t know what to do. Thank you for doing your research and sharing your experience with everyone.

Good job! 👍👍 This reminds me of my Pit, Zoey and her delivery of her first litter. She was in her bed in the bedroom next to mine and when that time came for the little ones to come, she came in my bedroom to let me know it was time. She came in whining. I remember telling her to go back to her bed bc it was 2 am and momma was sleepy. So she went back to her room but a couple mins later she was back at my bedside. This time she was really getting my attention bc she was trying to get in my bed. A light popped on in my head 😳 at that moment and I thought "It's time!!!" I woke my hubby and we grabbed her bed, some towels, a blanket and gloves and went to the garage. She got back in her bed and I stayed with her and 6 pups dropped in my hands, one every few minutes. 4 am came and I thought she was done. Sleep was calling me again. So went back to bed for a few hours. When I came back, there were 4 more pups. There were 10 pups total and they were perfect. Within weeks, we had little Pits running all over the place! Zoey did great for a first time mom 🥰😍 That was 11 years ago and she passed away a year ago...

Lucky enough she had you there to swoop in to help. Unfortunately I had a similar incident that didn't end so well with my kitty when I was only 5. My cat had given birth to 4 kittens perfectly until one more took her over 25 minutes to push out, my family was panicking and me, the youngest wasn't gonna sit back and watch my love in pain. So I pulled the kitten out of her and fortunately he was healthy, but then she had 2 more kittens left to deliver. Because of the one little guy struggling to come out was in there so long the next kitten to be birthed ended up with both eyes infected for being outside of the sac so long and was told it wasn't going to make it, and the next kitten after was a still birth. I spent the whole night bottle feeding the infected kitten with kitten formula up until he died in my arms. As a 5 year old who loved her kitty unconditionally that morning was me experiencing my first heart break.

Kittens can't digest the formula, this is one of the reasons it is very important they are with their mother for as long as possible in their first few months and especially important in their first few weeks, more so in their very first moments... Only kittens around 3-4 weeks of age are supposed to be fed kitten formula... Most people do an emergency foster mom cat if there is some reason their actual mother cannot/will not take their own kittens.

I found a tiny kitten outside my chicken house years ago. Let it there thinking mom would come back. She didn't. He was cold and not doing well. His eyes weren't open and neither were his ears. I went to the store got a bottle and kitty formula. Took over a day to get him to eat. Finally he got the hang of the bottle. He survived! My entire family took turns bottle feeding him. We used warm, wet cotton balls to stimulate his bowels and bladder. He lived 10 years. Got diabetes and was on insulin for three years. He died from kidney failure. Maybe his momma knew he was flawed and abandoned him. We'll never know. But he thrived on the kitty formula when he was very tiny.

  • @kimdawcatgirl

    @kimdawcatgirl

@@Geminei Sadly, you are misinformed about kitten formula. It is given to newborns just fine, and some have colostrum in the formula. Kittens need that for the antibodies but, if careful not to expose the newborns to diseased cats, can survive quite well until they can be vaccinated. Intranasal vaccines can be administered to 4 week old kittens when necessary and because they are modified live, can produce immunity within 48 to 72 hours. I know because I have fostered many, many kittens from the nearby dairy barn and from purebreds that didn't produce enough milk to one who wouldn't care for her kittens due to extreme bloodloss.

It’s those terrible breeders that gives other breeders bad rap even when the breeder is extremely experience and knowledgeable and actually cares about the dogs. I can tell you care so much about your girl and all pups not because you’re a “breeder” but cause you love animals. So much props to you and for taking fast action and making sure to always be there for the births. There are those idiots who keeps saying, “oh we want our dog to be all natural and do it herself with no human help to contain her dogness.” Like it’s the stupidest shiit I’ve ever heard cause if shit goes south they can loose the dog and all the pups. Yeah, the who vid had me worried with the Graphic disclaimer. I legitimately was waiting for something really crazy, like a really bad bite to the owner or the mom went on a feeding frenzy with one of the pups. Yet, it was a mother having issues with her last pup coming out and having breathing issues. Owner felt this was one of the rare times he needed to step in and help. Honestly, if the mother didn't trust him even in the slightest, the entire birth may have been different. Good job to you sir!

Omg I'm so glad you did that.... after he started struggling, the whole time I was hollering at the phone, "WING HIM! YOU NEED TO WING HIM!"(I didnt know what else to call it, but as a vet tech I knew it worked and had done it on a litter of c-section kittens and one of my own pups that had the same issue yours did)..... when you finally did I was so relieved especially once it began to work, as I knew it would after you said you could hear the fluid. Now I was never told to blow in the lungs first. I was taught the opposite, that you never do that with fluid in the lungs but hey, IT WORKED! Good looking out!

I'm very thankful for this video. You just saved a puppy. A second one of my doggies just had her litter and we had one with fluid in its lungs that was gasping. First set born didn't have any issues. None of the articles online mentioned the technique you used but it literally worked immediately. Tysm💖🙏🏾

Your the momma dogs human angel watching over her and her babies. She will always know and remember what you did for her little one. And believe it or not. One day that little baby you saved will return the life giving favor back to you somehow. And at that moment they will somehow let you know by action hey this is for caring enough to save my life. God Bless You.

**Thank you for watching. I hope this video helps. I wasn't gonna share it but i felt it needed to be out there for people to see and learn from it. Im sure it won't get the best response but im ok with that. Not everyone who hasn't experienced this will understand. Most breeders wont share such things and don't want the public to see their mistakes or tribulations. We feel the best way to improve is to learn and share. Intuition does not disregard logical thinking, rather it allows us to transcend its limitations. A moment of insight is very often the product of a lifetime of experience** Thanks for watching

Years and years ago, I saved two out of nine beagle pups thru CPR.... The others were frozen to death.... Living on a farm, dogs weren't allowed in the house 😢 but I brought the momma and babies in the house to save them all from the bitter cold.... It was too late for all but two.... What you did, your love and care for the momma and pups was a beautiful thing! Obviously you're a breeder.... But still.... It was a beautiful thing to watch💕 She's a gorgeous dog and I can only imagine how beautiful her puppies are! I have always wanted a pocket pittie.... Someday I hope to get my wish! Please keep us updated! Wait... I just realized this is over a year ago🙄
