azcargo, Thanks for extended highlights of this fine Cup-tie from Goodison. Slick Ipswich knocked out of their stride by fighting Everton side. Good performance by John Gidman for Everton and some classy touches by Ipswich's Arnold Muhren!

A few weeks before this I was at the game when Ipswich outplayed the blues in the league winning 4-0. This was a great display by Everton with Garry Megson giving a great performance as a stand in the midfield. Peter Eastoe was a favourite of mine, great first touch, bring others into play, good finisher. Sadly after beating this excellent Ipswich side, we lost to West Ham in the semi final. At Viila Park, West Ham knocked Everton out of their stride. Both Billy Bonds and Ray Stewart should have been sent off for over the top challenges. Brian Kidd was unlucky to be sent off in an incident with Stewart, who also should have gone. This type of event saw the demise of the unlucky Gordon Lee who was often so near yet so far away.

Got to laugh at attendances declared in those days. Goodison held 58,000 at the time of this game. Not a spare seat to be had. Terraces crammed. Official attendance? 44,000. Apparently something to do with trying to minimise VAT owed.

stephen carse They where always at back then seen that ground full and they gave a 41 thousand gate you couldnt get a ticket outside not that mattered always bunked in anyway.😭😭👏🏻

Didn't Ipswich win 4-0 in the league game at goodison I was there and the home fans were applauding ipswichs play especially 1 goal by Brazil or gates

John Mcgreal I can also remember that game the blues fans clapping they played us off the pitch great side I was only 10 i got in the main stand bunked in forgot all about this game sat watching it and the memories came flooding back wow where did all them years go.✌️👏🏻👍

andy They had a great side played lovely football them Forest and Villa all played great football great as kid loved their kits as well.👏🏻🙏✌️
