It took me forever to get this review done, but it's here. And Im really stoked to share with everyone what my impressions of the Everlast Welders 210 Ext Tig Welder. I go over the BASIC functions of the machine, (I don't get into the Advanced Pulse settings or the different Square Wave settings,) basic setup, and all the things that come with this bad mama to get you ripping with this Tig Welder. But needless to say, I hope you all enjoy it a ton, and go check out their online stuff.

    One little tip.....open up the ozone valve all the way as there are two seals in the valve and opening up just one turn allows gas leakage around the handle and valve. Open it up all the way and the two seals then can do their job and seal the valve completely. I was told this by a gas pressurized tank manufacturing rep.

    Just got my 210EXT a month ago. I love it! It’s my first machine. I’m just starting out on this new welding adventure, here in the States. Mine has a black Argon hose and totally different (very strong) clamps, so maybe they’ve fixed the problem. I have been waiting for this review, so REALLY enjoyed it. I know how much work videos are, I have made them for more than 30 years as a television anchor/reporter/creator. Since you’re doing a fantastic job teaching me welding, I’d be honored to help you with the finer points of video production, if I only knew how to reach you privately.🙂. But in the meantime, your videos are awesome. Nobody knows how much work it takes to make them, unless they’ve done it themselves! I also believe in those random acts of kindness! You’re a good man!

    Interesting, I bought my 210EXT in early-2015 (a sticker showed it was manufactured in late-2014), and the four-fan style makes my unit virtually whisper-quiet. I mean, there was probably a manufacturing update to make the fans run faster lately. I think the latest 210EXT also use gapped-points for the HF arc starting, but my older unit has a HF daughterboard that has no arc-gapped points. So, I'm still digging my 210EXT even now that the 5-year warrantee is expired, and I probably wouldn't want any other unit if I was in the TIG welding marketplace. I mean, the 210EXT is an advanced-featured units, with its added waveforms (love Triangle wave for thinner aluminum), and that wild AC/DC Mix-TIG Advanced Pulse (it's non-reductive, unlike typical pulse, if set at 100% on the DC half) makes for an extra-potent use of amperage on aluminum. Everlast service and support over the years has been great, too.

    I just bought my first REAL TIG this year, it's from Everlast also & I'm pleasantly surprised! I was about to get the PowerTig 255EXT but they were sold out for 2 months ahead, so I got the Lightnihg MTS275. Its basically a full TIG with the same features as the 255EXT (less Hz on the pulse tho) however it has a whole legit MIG side as well. It's a dope machine tho, little more expensive than the 255ext and heavier 😂 And I feel you on the fan noise bro haha.

    Great review here! Really liking the channel, I've learned a lot. I recently got a 255 ext and it came with a completely different type of regulator and hose without those crimp clamps. I did have a problem with the regulator leaking so I gave Everlast a ring. They sent me a new regulator no questions asked and it showed up the next day! I've been happy with the machine and service so far.

    Hey Dusty, just watched your demo videos on both the Canaweld and Everlast TIG/ Stick welders again, trying to decide on value for dollars, as both appear to be equal in performance and capabilities. By adding a foot pedal to the Canaweld and a few necessary accessories, they become closer in cost. You can elaborate this more if your opinion differs. That being said, no one ever mentioned where the Everlast is manufactured and it’s obvious where the Canaweld for the most part is put together. Can you answer that question for me please, as that might be my single decision making input, as to which one I order. Thanks for the informative down to earth videos that any beginner welder will appreciate to get started. Great Job ! ! !

    @@Pablo_M98 Hey Pablo! Yes, I received the 210 and it looks terrific. I ran it through a quick shakedown but have been waiting for my backordered cart since early April now. It is supposed to ship this week. I have to empathize with the delays from China because I am experiencing those in my work life as well. I don't want to take any risks with an unrestrained Argon cylinder, so I am waiting for the cart. I also bought a really nice welding table from weldtables.com and will be assembling that #2 after the cart. Good luck on your backorder! My experience with Everlast customer service is that they are great on the phone, but maybe a tiny bit slow on the email - probably because they are close to being overwhelmed. I felt like my patience paid off with a more satisfying feeling at the end when my machine did arrive :)

    Recently found your channel, really neat TIG welding art you do. Have a few questions though, although first a little backstory into my TIG buying dilemma. I've been wanting to get into TIG welding for awhile, and just recently pulled the trigger on a machine after allot of researching; boy were there allot of options that can be somewhat overwhelming. I was looked at Primeweld TIG225, AHP TIG 201XD, Everlast 185DV, Everlast 200DV and even the one you reviewed; the Everlast 210EXT, although a little more than I wanted to spend on this particular unit starting off. Since I'm new to TIG, I figured maybe it was good to buy features to grow with as time went on, I know I wanted AC ability for when I finally dabble into Aluminum, Pulse capability, more of a digital interface v an analog one, and a smaller footprint since I am limited on space in my garage. Ended up ordering a Everlast PowerTig 185DV, it hasn't arrived yet, but from what I can tell it has just about has all the features one would need starting out if you don't want to weld anything thicker than 1/4 aluminum. Now after ordering it, and her in is where my question lies is, from what the internet of course says, that anything under a 200 AMP capable machine is not worth it , second question is how important is having more control with the Pulse settings since the 185 DV only has 1HZ & 50HZ options.

  • @samlee3784

    @samlee3784

    100% depends on what you're doing. I mostly do sheet metal and work up to 5mm all in stainless 304 or 316 with the occasional mild steel work. Been doing it 10 years working in the food industry and rarely go anywhere near the limit of my lincoln invertec 220. Most of my work is sub 150A as its a lot of 0.9 - 3mm, 5mm is right up the top end of my work. If I worked in pipe or plate with much thicker stuff then I would deffinately need the extra amperage but I'd imagine that machine will suit you well for a while and you can always sub out heavier gauge work until you can afford a bigger machine.

    @@PacificArcTigWelding Interesting...i enjoy watching weld.com videos about Everlast welders, and one fellow prefers his own tig torch (17F) over the stock issues (to which he said "these are going by by...") that come with the PowerTig 210EXT. Is this machine still running? I’m tempted to get one of these units the 325 amp version but I’m wondering how yours has held up over a couple years of use? I currently have an ESAB machine that has not held up well at all. It seems like I have spent more time fixing it then welding. I’m tempted to look for a used transformer machine like a syncrowave 350 as these things were reliable as all hell in my experience. My buddy spent over 10 grand on a Dynasty and that thing has had issues. Miller stood behind it but the fact a top of the line machine had to be repaired multiple times under warranty isn’t good.

    There is a tool that you use to tighten those original type of hose clamps. They probably leave them a bit loose... I saw someone with a 255 say if you push the select knob in and rotate it the value goes up by 10s. Waiting for mine to show up. I will test all my BS out on it. LOL

    OK just got my 210 today. Hose is pre-crimped to the connector in a much more solid way. And yes, if you push in selector knob when you turn it the value counts by ten.

    I bought one of these and so far I like it except fir the ground clamp. It will work kn a flat steel table top but if you have to clamp on to anything irregular it pops off. The spring is way too stiff and the pivot for the jaws is so sloppy that the splay apart. On my first project it popped off the work at least 10 times. Horrible. I bought it to replace my miller diversion which literally blew up so the first thing I did was cannibalize the miller grounding clamp and throw the everlast one in the trash. Other than that, so far so good. I was even able to do some welding up on a ladder using the torch switch in 2t. First time. Once I got the amps and slopes dialed in it worked well. Hope it lasts.

I dont know if i should just upgrade to an Everlast, or since I have taught myself tig welding just bite the bullet and get a miller and have a welder for the rest of my life. The Everlast are so much cheaper but there has to be a reason why they are half the price for the millers..

    Honestly....? If you want to learn? Go green. Miller’s are AMAZING, but learning Tig on a miller is like operating a spaceship when you’re just getting a driver’s license 😂 I’ve had no problem with my green machine, or my CanaWeld machine, and I’ve welded with lots of expensive machines before. 10k$ for a blue or red rig up here compared to a 2-3k$ Tig is a big jump. Either way you’ll be having fun tho! Let me know what you end up doing!🍻

    Hunter Magill, you do NOT need a Miller to lay down good quality Beads! I've owned several Millers through the past 25 years. My very first Tig Machine was a Miller 250 Syncrowave Tig Runner, which had the Water Cooled setup, and the whole nine yards. That Machine was $6000.00 even back then. They are $7k plus now. I bought that Welder in 2000 and it is still going strong today. I ended up selling it to my Cousin. The reason that Machine has lasted this long is because it is an "old school" Transformer Machine. Everyone is going away from them, due to the advances in Inverter Technology. Even though that Machine is a rock solid workhorse, and will last maybe a life time, with propper care, it has nowhere close to the Features of a properly equipped Inverter Tig. So don't get hung up on spending a small fortune on a Machine because you think it will last you for the rest of your life. New Inverter Machines won't do that. They do wear out! Even Miller and Lincoln are going strongly towards all Inverter based Machines. There are Pros and Cons with both types. Miller just changed the Syncrowave 200 over to Inverter based only this year, and re-named it the Syncrowave 210. We have a couple if the old Transformer 200's at work, and they are the biggest pieces if shit that Miller ever made. Yes even Miller and Lincoln turn out some Junk once in a while. I don't understand it because the 250 and 350 Syncrowaves are some of the most reliable,, time tested,, Tig workhorses of this Industry. I guess that's the difference between a $2500 machine and a $7500 machine. That's what I have found with Miller, is their Top Shelf, Flagship, expensive Machines are almost always great, but the cheaper more affordable "DIY" or Home Hobbyist Machines are usually just that, CHEAPLY made, and won't stand up to being used like a real Welder uses them. So take my advice and get yourself a good quality Inverter Machine, and it should last you a good long time, nit a lifetime, but it should last long enough to pay for itself, and it's own replacement many times over. The beauty of an Inverter is all of the awesome setting and features you get acces to, which make life so much better when welding Aluminum, Stainless, Titanium, Chromoly, etc, etc. Being able to adjust you Frequency from as low as 5hz up to 200hz, and Pulse Capabilities are like hitting the Weld Lottery, Lol especially with a Machine that has a wide range of Pulse adjustments, and upslope/download, being able to set your peak time, pre and post flow adjustments, etc, etc. When you get a Machine that has all these features it just takes your Tig Game to a whole other level. My personal Tig Machine right now is a Primeweld Tig225X, I have never used a Machine that I liked any better than this, and I have used them all. I have a Friend that we run a side hustle together in the evenings and weekends. He has a Miller Dynasty 350 water cooled that he has $10k wrapped up in after he added the Wireless Foot Pedal to it. 90% of the time we work from my house because he is in love with my Tig225X, and prefers it over his 10k$ Dynasty. That Primeweld cost $800.00 slap ass new, not mention it comes from the factory with a brand new CK Worlwide 17 Torch with the Superflex Cable. Dollar for dollar there's not a better deal in the Welding world. I was very skeptical the first time I heard about this Machine, so I spent 7 maybe 8 months researching it. Everyone that has them loves them. I was looking hard at Everlast myself before I found the Primeweld. The thing that sold me more on the 225C is all of the Conrols are Analog instead of Digital like the Everlast. Some people prefer the Digital. I don't because if this simple reason. I can adjust or set my Machine up 5 times faster than anybody can the Everlast. I have a separate know for every single feature. I don't have to be dicking around scrolling thru Menus to get what I need then pushing buttons over and over. This is especially important when you're just starting a project, and you're making a couple of test runs and fine tuning your Machine for the job at hand. I'm telling you all this just to give you options. I don't have anything to do with Primeweld other than I own one of their Machines. Just don't think you have to spend a fortune to get a quality Machine. When I was younger I didn't think there were way quality Welders on earth other than Big Blue. That's just not the case anymore. I can say this, when I get ready to buy a new Mig Machine in a few months it will probably be a Millermatic 255 Pulse, or it will be the Fronius Transsteel. If your gonna need a Mig to earn money with, and depend on it, those are the 2 Best Machines on the Market. I eat, sleep and breathe Welding/Fabrication/Machining, so I can promise you I have spent more time researching Machines, using them, testing them, and making a living with them as much or more than anyone you know. Hope you end up with a good Machine no matter what brand you choose. Keep your Hood down Brother. Sorry for the long dissertation. Lol

I have heard really good things about the prime weld machine. And it is 100% on my radar for something i might consider buying, that price point is too hard to pass up. If I go blue i am 100% paying for the name and the shear fact that people can work on it local to where i live. I am not sure what I would do if something were to happen with any other machine. One of the things we give up when our seller is not a local dealer: QC demo and testing before it goes out the door. I was offered test welding with both the Miller 220 and the Lincoln Squarewave 210 there, too. Buying on line is giving me guilt pangs, plus they all know our local business, well, as weld, whoops, well, as well.
