Tom and Henrik are such an underrated guitar duo, holy hell they rip here. Tremendous song. Quite simple in structure, yet effective, memorable and brilliant. Perfect!

I don't comment a ton on KZread, but as someone who started their non-North American metal journey down the Gothenburg path due to a dear friend and bandmate from Sweden with the likes of At The Gates, Arch Enemy, and Evergrey, I've just got to say thank you to the beautiful people in Evergrey for giving us so much new music over the last 2 years with back-to-back new albums. I'm enjoying 'A Heartless Portrait: The Orphean Testament' as much as 'Escape of the Phoenix.' \m/ \m/

This album is so addictive. Been listening to it everyday since I got it a couple days after it came out.

The more I listen to it the more I think this is my favorite Evergrey song. The lyrics, vocals and especially the solos combine to create the perfect song.

@@Hellenicheavymetal the more i think of it, EOTP as kind of a letdown. 4 incredible tracks (The Beholder, In The Absence of Sun, Eternal Nocturnal, EOTP) thats kinda it.. Its not bad. Just not on par for what they are capable of. A Heartless Portrait is miles better. At least as good as Hymns and The Atlantic.
