And it's still a learning experience for you both, Tina. That's how you have to look at it. You know what you did wrong, so you know how to correct it. You said it yourself, in your debrief, you thought you got him back on his hocks, but you felt it, that he wasn't, and you had the plank down with his back end. And you said also, you got too deep to the double, and Banksey took the front rail. So you know you have to somehow get him to slow down with your body, half halt a couple of times, get him listening to you, he'll be balanced and able to take the jump just fine. Spot on! You know how to do these things. Deep breath, relax and stay deep breathing until he takes a deep breath also, I enjoy doing that with mine. I will take him to x and began my deep breathing , settle down into the saddle and keep bringing your mind back where you are. It works so well for me and my boy who can run quite hot. Sometimes slowly walk around the arena

I think for the first competition of the year you should be really pleased! We can know all the theory and have everything down to a tee in training but putting it into practice in the heat of the moment at a competition is a different thing entirely. Banks was certainly pleased to be out having fun! Well done. Xx

You both looked like you were having a blast, which was great to see. Banksy was definitely keen - he couldn't wait to get to the next fence. He also 'eats up the ground' very quickly, which must make it harder to collect him, especially in a smaller arena full of jumps. I thought you rode brilliantly. Keep your joy of riding, Tina - it's a joy to watch❤ Bring on Badders🎉

Lovely to see you both out for your first competition and sparkling! 🤩✨❤️ I was heading up the A30 on Sunday morning and waved at every trailer I passed. 😃 At one point I was in a convoy of 4 and knew where everyone was heading. 😍

Not plan A but a good alternative. I think the poles you got were just because there was a lot going on in the arena. Not much space for a nice turn. Banksy was certainly on a mission.....love him!

This makes me so happy! Eventing season is slowly making its approach!! Would you do the arena eventing in the winter for the championships in early new year to keep ontop of jumping solid fences??

Simon said about Riding the bend/turn in balance and rhythm. Have a look and see how you did as some looked like you were riding a motor bike where the right shoulder was falling in. I am only sharing because I saw you do it so well with Simon and not so well here. The pace took away from the lovely rhythm you have been achieving. Just want to share as another pair of eyes help sometimes. What was good was there were less last minute strides into the jump so we can see that is moving in the right direction well done.

Go team dirty hairy legs 🤣 👏👏 you had a really lovely warm up and it showed in your course. The pole was a shame and the plank was an early celebration error 🫣 overall good solid run. Great way to start season. Congratulations Lola and Sam grew at least 12” 😮 Dinks and Banksy rolling 🧡🧡🍀🍀

What about just mineral oiling his legs Tina? I use MTG but some people say their horses don't like the sulfur. It's like waterproofing legs.

Well don Tina- good forward riding in your round! Banksy looked good, shame about the two rails! Not a dig at all but I've noticed Poppy is looking a bit like a barrel! I think she may need to go on a bit of a diet x I've had labradors for years and years and they will get fat on the smell of an oily rag so they need to have their food managed pretty carefully otherwise they get lots of health issues from being fat but if you keep them lean (they should have a very visible waist line and be tucked up underneath) then you'll have them healthy & fit into their teenage years like 15-17yo x

Gosh must be the camera angle as she is nowhere near overweight, we actually struggle to get her to eat she extremely fussy and nothing like a typical lab xx

So, unfortunately, the horse shows that I was going to often holister that around that it's really close to where I live, like 1 hour away. I live in California. Are you and fortunately? It's raining this weekend. And I can't compete. So what I competed in is called the can california gymkhana Association And I am in the triple-a. Division top rated and I'm going for my triple. A buckle in my Top 10 elite buckle this year.
