While I was watching this video, I keep on thinking how interesting is that a lot of classic designer handbags include locks in the design, as a way to protect what you carry inside. but nowadays Most of the time the bag itself is the most valuable thing you carry, so it’s kind of obsolete and becomes a romantic feature from the past, when bags were a container for your valuable items and not such a coveted item.

Speedy is my favorite LV bag! My very first luxury bag was a 1987 speedy handed down from my mother. So this bag holds such a sentimental value to me. Such a classic bag. Love the LV heritage bags. Beautiful bag you have there!! 🤗🤗

Oh, Gosh, I so often see on KZread how luxury bloggers critic Speedy like Never buy these bags included Speedy. This bag is out and blablabla. I am a BIG fan of Speedy in classic style. I have 25 monogram and 30 DA. I had 30 monogram but 25 is better for my body frame. And this bag is a face of LV!;)

Same here. I have the 25 mono. 30 DE. And 35 mono.

So, since the Speedy was used for travel.. the 3-point unpickable lock was just to keep the nosey Maids, Valets and Footmen out of your business. Also, Bellman and Porters upon arrivals. They wouldn't steal your bag but they certainly would rummage through it!

The speedy is amazing ! It’s so timeless✨

Speedy was my very first love too many years ago to admit to 😆 and I can’t imagine not having it in my collection.

All about that "bag sag" 💗 On a practical note, I lock my Speedy B30 on 2 occasions: when I fly alone & leave it under the seat to go use the bathroom, and when I leave it in the hotel room. Peace of mind 😉👍

The speedy has been my favorite bag since forever. Super light, fits everything and it’s very strong. Plus, I love the slouchy look 😁I don’t like structured bags

I love my speedy too! I think it looks good with a sag too. I don’t use an organizer but I do put down a piece of stock paper just to protect the canvas from stains. It gives just the perfect bit of support without looking boxy.

I love LV it’s my all time fav brand, I love the history, the heritage of the brand and you can’t beat the classics like the speedy! My god the classics are the best from LV. I don’t necessarily like the direction LV is going at the moment I feel like they are moving away from their history too much and trying desperately to be something they aren’t which is a shame but I still love em.

Watching this 2 years later but just had to say I’ve never owned a Speedy Bandoliere. I don’t like the leather on the sides…it ends up wrinkling. I love this bag in Monogram and Damier Ebene. Have bought and sold so many and always rebuy. Speedy 30 is THE BEST. But get a 40….all that canvas is amazing and the older canvas is nicer. Love to you Superstar.

I am so in love with the speedy!! Its perfect for travel and every day use! I love that the 30 is great for a overnight "bag".

The Speedy's are great bags. I purchased the Speedy 25 in monogram last June. Unfortunately, my wrinkles and deep creases from being folded never went away. Even after wearing it for 12 months straight. I had to get a white t-shirt and an iron last month and I was finally able to remove the creases and deep creases. Luckily, no damage, but of course, I do not recommend doing this. I was cringing the entire time I was doing it.❤

So love to see appreciation of this iconic bag. My first Speedy was the 25 in DE from September 2006 followed by the Epi 30 in Noir from October 2007. I still have both although not used as much I'll never part with them.

I end up buying 3 speedys this year(2 of 30B and a 25), I shun away from it before bec its so popular or so 'basic' they say but I got 1 bec after too much research that i realized it's the most practical for my lifestyle..then I got hooked🥰! I was surprised how light,durable and yeah folding it like a pancake is a genius idea. I'm getting another 25 but it's always unavailable and even with the price increase I'm still getting it. I now say I'm more of a Speedy girl( canvas preferably). My heavier bags lost its appeal on me and I'm slowly letting them go.

I agree!! speedy the classic of all classics!!! never goes out of style. it has its own charm, beauty, practicality, luxury, that is AGELESS and TIMELESS! I do like for my speedy to look like a little bit structured so I use a bag shaper inside at the bottom..the bandolier/strap is a convenience and I like it, but I do LOVE to carry this without the strap..in the crook of my arm.. I think its the best look 😀. I don't like the look of strap on each end of the bandolier. Speedy 30 is the sweet size for my daily needs, I do have the 35 in Demier Ebene for travel although, generally, I only like ♥LV Monogram with vachetta♥. Its true that the canvas is too thin nowadays I recently got a 25 in monogram compared to the canvas years ago, but I still love it. LV has come up with all kinds of designs over the years, but I think Speedy is so simple, useful and yet so so classy.. classy then up to now. So Speedy vs Alma? I'm a speedy girl without batting an eyelash.

I just purchased Speedy 40 right before the price increase & I love it!

I've never heard such a love ode to the Speedy, it was great! I have fond memories of the Speedy since my Mom had a classic monogram one in the 80's and I always remember her wearing it. I figured I didn't need one because one day she would just give me hers. Fast forward 40 years and SHE STILL WON'T GIVE IT UP! So I bought a 30B in DE, then loved it so much I bought the 1854 print in Blue (25B). I'm a fan of the ease and classic shape, will keep waiting for mom to give me hers though, lol. As a side note. My DE Speedy is 3 years old and when I compare it to my 20 year old DE bucket bag the canvas is the same thickness. I'm not sure where this "the canvas is flimsy" line came from, but it isn't true. The DE and Mono also have different feels to them, with the DE canvas feeling generally less pliable than the Mono. They do use different thicknesses of canvases for different models, and the interior lining also makes a difference in how the canvas feels.

Speedy 30 is my all time favorite bag. I have newer ones but my 1986 vintage is my favorite 🤩 Damier azur is a close second!

The Speedy is a bag I'd never considered getting for myself. After watching this video, I went straight to an LV store. I was surprised at how well it suits my frame and my style! So light and so practical! I couldn't decide which canvas to get though! I went in thinking the Damier Azure, but the Damier Ebene and the Monogram also sparked my interest. I couldn't decide so I'm going back tommorow, to give myself some time to think it over. Thanks for the great review! Super helpful.

I would like sagging too. I have speedy 25, the limited edition time trunk, and it is more structured. I wish it was a little saggy. Some people are too precious with their bags. Like the Chanel Boy bag that can also have a saggy bottom 😊. Love it! If it wasn’t meant to sag, they would have made the bag with more structure 🤷🏽‍♀️

I absolutely love the speedy bags it’s my favorite bag from lv I have the classic speedy 25 in monogram and it’s my everyday bag so far every time I think about switching out of it I never do great video from one speedy lover to another 🥰🥰❤️

I have the speedy bandolier 25 in monogram and Damier Ebene. I also had the classic speedy 25 in Damier Ebene but I ended up selling it cuz I didn’t like not having the option to throw it on my shoulder especially since I’m a mom & need to be hands free most of the time. However, I agree that carrying it too handle is much classier .

The Speedy 30 is on my Wishlist for Christmas in DE. I like the classic Speedy over the bandouliere. Love from Austria

I have a trapeze pm mini monogram that I bought in 2008, I wish I bought the speedy over my trapeze. My cousin has a speedy she bought in 1997 and it still looks good.

I want the speedy 25, not because it's really practical for my day to day but more as a peice of historyof the brand, and I absolutely love the effortless saggy chic look! The fast fashion of brand collections put me off. I love the idea of having something so old school lluxury, and will never go out of style

Love Speedy more than any LV though I love Speedy B for versatility. Cannot beat it - I am so practical.

I’m officially a speedy converter. I have the strap version in size 35. I felt the 30 wasn’t right for my hight and frame. It a classic for sure!

I have the speedy b 30 in the damier ebene print. I think the strap blends in with that print; where I prefer it without the strap in mono. I love the sag!

I just consigned my vintage speedy 30 in monogram. I did love it but I literally never used it, and I wanted someone else to be able to enjoy it. im going to use the money to get a nevrfull as my needs have changed as to what I need out of a bag

Speedy 25 in monogram was my favourite and also my very first lux bag. Purchased for $500 USD back in 1993. So study but light weight. Also have speedy 30 in monogram and dAmier azur, but I found them a bit too big for my frame, so I just added another 25 in Damier azur. Can’t get enough of speedy 😂. Glad you finally got into speedy :)

I don’t have this bag but my dear hubby made a speedy cake for my bday 😊 I totally agree with you about simple elegant bag, effortless but functional and stand the test of time. Nothing wrong with designers who design weird shaped trendy bag, overly tiny or heavy bag but if they’re not functional or not user friendly, then it’s just a waste of money. Coz once the excitement gone, you won’t even reach for it. Those bags will stay in the closet looking pretty and gathering dust. That’s just me 😁

I got the bandouliere because the classic speedy without strap is out of stock here in the Philippines. But like you, i also like to wear my speedy without the strap. It looks more formal and professional that way.

No, they will apparently not be stopping canvas production. Allegedly they were all rumors.

How did I not know you could fold down the boxes?! My speedy 30 B came in a flatter box like my evermore scarf, so it doesn't take up as much room

my last speedy was like paper i returned it, this one i just got is nice sturdy.

The new speedy 35 I got is also very sturdy and thick canvas.

I think you've convinced me. It's a very practical casual bag. And I think I prefer the 30 over the 25 as well. The opening of the 25 is just so small. And I usually always need a micro umbrella, a book and a bottle of water.

I have 25m , 30bde, 40m and 55m keep all love all sold my mini hl never used it !! never use the lock

Also new to the Speedy and have no idea why I slept on it for so long

Sometimes the monogram canvas on some pieces does appear a bit warmer. I know what you mean but when I look at eighties LV catalogues and movies with LV luggage in them, they also appear warmer than most of today’s monogram canvas… but then I try to put it under different warmth of lights and it changes constantly between warmer and less warm. Its quite fascinating. In general the less grainy canvas appears warmer because it has a flatter surface I believe and the grainer canvas reflects less light in the deeper wrinkles so it appears somewhat darker to our eyes. Just a theory…

What do you Think about buying it preloved ? Or better to buy it new ? Thank you :)

For me the choice is to buy it new when possible. If a piece is seasonal and no longer available on store, then I start a second hand hunt...

Also the bigger the speedy is, the zipper bends more in turn bending the canvas at the zipper area which may cause cracking in that area.

The lock is not gimmicky at the time back when, when it was first made. The speedy is a classic style afterall.

It took me YEARS to acquire a taste for the Speedy. I have the Speedy 30 and bandolier. I LOVE them.... now. The element of classic, old money fashion that they add is incomparable. But I didn't like them at first. 🤷‍♀️🥰

Hardware on the bag no problem. The lock seems very delicate though cuz its so glossy but I don't use the lock.

Hello! Please be careful for new speedy 25 made in France in monogram. The monogram print is not symmetrical, lines not going straight. I just returned my new speedy 25 because of this reason! If u need photos of my speedy, contact me.

i used to admire lv for their foundational designs. but now i think it's a lie. i'm a design enthusiast (and, by god, how bad objects of design purses tend to be). trading vaulted tops for stackable flat ones is brilliant. trading leather or exposed wood for the less noble but more resistant canvas is brilliant. apparently those were all inventions by h.j. and sons, before lv was founded. :-///
