    People always mention Lee when it comes to quick wit and improv, but I think how quickly David can think of a way to say anything in a comedically posh way is just as impressive.

    Lee destroys or breaks things! The answer should always be "no!" He was even rough with the wand and the end came off and fell. When he broke the pen AFTER saying he would not, that was not funny at all and the look on David's face and what he said was sad....! An uncomfortable silence followed. Lee's quick repartee is what he is great at. Amazing humour!

    Someone needs to tell David that the entering the PIN thing is significantly less secure than the tap thing. Entering the PIN involves doing a particular physical action that someone else can simply observe and memorize. So you're taking an extra action that is a security risk instead of simply skipping an action that is a security risk. It's like riding a motorcycle and wearing a helmet. Sure, it's a layer of protection, but if safety were paramount, you'd simply not get on the motorcycle in the first place.

    This will probably sound Sgt. Buzzkill, but I was thinking about Jo Brand's joke, about her husband getting her a bathing suit 2 sizes smaller, and that he's looking forward to seeing her in it, and then she got him a coffin and said the same thing. This is an INCREDIBLY toxic joke that we just laugh off. I have no idea if this actually happened or not, but let's pretend it really did. In this case, her husband has noticed that she's gaining weight. This is both a health issue, and an attractiveness issue. He pointed it out to her in as gentle a way as possible. He's saying that you're overweight, and he would like to see you thinner and more healthy. He is showing you his preference, in as nice a way as I can imagine. You have a choice at this point. You could lose the weight, showing your husband that you care about his opinion, and that you want him to feel attracted to you, so you will do as he so heavily hinted and lose some weight. Or you could wish him to die. Which of those two actions sounds like it would lead to a happy marraige, and a happy & healthy life? Why are we so accepting of toxic femininity?

  • @starsandtopsoil

    @starsandtopsoil

    3 ай бұрын

    You're making a LOT of assumptions about a hypothetical relationship for a throwaway joke here. There was no indication that she'd gained weight prior, just that her husband thought that she was fat. She's under no obligation to "care about his opinion" just because they're married- if he doesn't like the way she looks, then tough shit. This isn't "toxic femininity", it's sensitive masculinity.
