Even in 2023 RG280V (ADAM) is still the best tiny retro handheld! PC Steam Deck player confession

Ойындар

In addition to my Steam Deck I decided recently to try out a retro handheld, since I've never really had any of those. After some research i got this little time machine.
Surprisiingly, even in 2023 Anbernic RG280V is still the most balanced all-round good retro console with a great screen, decent battery life, unmatched built quality, comfortable controls and a perfect pocketable size! 8bit, 16bit, PS1 - this beast can handle it all!
It's a perfect tiny machine for shorter (5-30 minutes) gaming sessions; but at times I played for a few hours without breaks - and it was perfectly fine! Being mainly a PC and a Steam Deck player I'm surprised with myself, how much I love this little device.
‪@RetroGameCorps‬ (thanks, man!) starting guide I used: retrogamecorps.com/2021/08/20...
In addition to ADAM image, you'll also need "retro rom set" and "retro bios" for all the emulated consoles in case you don't have your own retro game library; google might help you with those ones.

That's a lenghty one, but I decided to give maximum info to anyone who's looking for some more personal feedback. Excellent video. The 280v is still tied with the miyoo mini as my favorite handheld. The form factor on the 280v is my favorite though. So glad to still see it getting the attention it deserves.

Great video! I bought a few retro handhelds, and the RG280V is still my favorite. The build quality is just so good. I use it for lighter weight games and my phone for ps2/3ds/etc.

Yeah, it's simply works best for my "the most casual" yet still gaming-gaming, not some idle-match3-casual-ad filled bloatware :)

I have a bunch of emulators, but I love my black 280V. There is still nothing as small on the market.

I have the *Anbernic RG280M,* same internals & screen as your 280V but horizontal, metal shell & analog stick under the D-Pad. I have more recent & powerful handhelds I use more these days. I have to put the Adam image on to see how it works today.

Adam image is a game changer in comparison with the stock one. I'd be happy to have some clamshell like powkiddyv90 with a tad bigger screen, better chip (psp ps2?) and two sticks, but in the SAME size. Then yeah, it would be a total winner over anbernic rg280v. But there's no such pocketable retro handheld, so rg280v it is

Nice for share this video and specially for your honest feedback about this amazing device!! Question? Do you think that is posible to play with two players using a Bluetooth adapter or a wifi adapter maybe with another RG280v or another Anbernic device?

Thanks! As for the Bluetooth/wifi USB adapter - no idea honestly :) If it's supported by chip/OS - why not. The chances are it's not supported though (really no clue whether ADAM software supports it or not), so please let me know if you ever try it out!

I heard good things about Miyoo Mini's screen, but the hardware quality and assembly seems to be inferior/not that reliable; and I wanted something shockproof for myself.

in the description you say this is the only retro console you have tried but you also say this OS is the best? that doesn't make any sense.
