I'd either just be getting started or almost done and it starts pouring. Nah, I wanted to mow the grass, this rain ain't stopping me. Nothing bugs me more than leaving a task I wanted to do unfinished. Cause then I gotta look at it. Also some weeks I don't even have the chance to cut the grass, so it either gets cut right then or it doesn't get touched for several weeks.

So, I'm watching the house in Montana get taken downstream and sitting here in New Mexico going, "That's sad, but I wish we had water..." Then just two and 1/2 minutes later, we get a dingus an Albuquerque using a truck for a boat. Never mind. We're not responsible enough to have water.

Part of the reason I only tried playing golf once was that the people I went with demanded I wear the "appropriate attire". If I could have gone in flip-flops and cargo shorts I might have had a better time and played again. I'm sticking with mini-golf and disc golf.

That's for diesel trucks and tanks. A gas car is vastly different. If water goes up the air intake (which is usually just above the level of the front axle or below the radiator) you will hydrolock the engine and you're done. In theory, assuming you have the momentum, and the car doesn't float, and the water doesn't overpower the car, the bow wave can create an air pocket behind the water you are pushing and keep the intake free of water, but way too many things need to align perfectly for that to happen and your chances of doing that in a sedan are slim. Know where the height of the air intake on the car is in relation to your body, then double that, then wade into the water. if it passes the limit, you're not making it. There's more than 1 road to get to where you are going, pick another. Don't be an idiot. Stay out of the water.

But, yes, I would definitely go find another road unless you not only know your vehicle but also know the flooded road you are traversing.

One moment of inattention , several years of inactivity. This was on a big plate in a Danish workshop with big machines. "Et øjebliks uopmærksomhed , flere års uvirksomhed" Strangely enough the worst accidents in workshops happen to the most experienced workers , saying "I could control this machine blindfolded" . Once the machine got your finger , it doesn't let go. It will pull out the tendon up to the elbow.

I live across the river in Iowa, this is not an unusual problem, because we have the same issues here. the fireworks was not a JInx. The male (teenager) in the blue shirt running away from the rear of the SUV had a lighter wand in his hand and looks like he tried to set one off and the fuse sparked setting others off...hope he got in trouble for that, the whole car could have exploded.
