Consider a trade alt that sits in the trade systems. You can haul your stuff to sell into the trade station, contract it to your alt, and then your alt can login and check that the sell orders you put up still make sense every so often. You can also use this alt to accumulate spare fittings, modules, and ammo at decent prices so you dont have to pay market price when you arrive to refuel, refit, or replace a lost ship.

This is how I do it. Although I also have that alt do research and industry. I just got a 90 day multi pass when there was a sale going on to train her up.

Again, this video isn't saying that you must have alt accounts, but merely to educate players that are curious and want to enjoy EVE in different ways through alts! Let me know what roles your alt accounts fill for your Eve gameplay or if I forgot any other roles that an alt account can perform. Fly Safe! o7

Personally, i got two omegas with a total of 6 toons.... 4 for PI.... Nothing else... One hauler and my main..... No need to be running so many

I'm all for having alts, I mean why not, it doesn't really harm anyone and helps fund the loses.. I have 4 Alts all trained in various different abilities, it really helps in my opinion, and like you said doesn't effect player interaction.. Good stuff man..

The sound has made great improvement.

Another option (my preference) for Destroyer based salvager fits is the Gallente Algos. You lose two turret slots vs the Cormorant, but what you gain is a drone bay that can support a full complement of Salvage Drones (which don't even need you to lock targets) and an extra low for expanded cargo space.

I use Algos, not for the extra cargohold or the salvage drones, but a full flight of light drones to attack any light tackle that comes along.

Man you didn't include faction warfare. FW is great fun, great isk, and keeps your skills sharp. Everyone should have a FW alt.

I was thinking of keeping my main for mining and creating a second that compliments the mining ship or skips the grinding aspect and does trading.in a shuttle just for fun and testing the area for pirates.

You didn't explain the three types of alts. Some of these roles can only be done by certain types. You need multiple Omega accounts to have multiple characters logged in, without that a scout alt is impractical. Alpha characters are limited but can still perform some roles, such as watching market hubs. Every account have three slots and I use all three for planetary interaction.

Multiple Omega accounts....or multiple computers.

I have allts accounts for all 4 empire. The idea was to experiment with the ships, weapons and bonuses of each empires, plus have an opportunity to sse and experiment with the different spaces they live in (pirates, markets, mining, npc corops, etc.) They are pretty much built the same though, trained for L3 security missions (they are alpha) in a battlecruiser. At this point though I should probably stop playing them and focus my time on my main, which is Omega and can therefor do more and earn more ISK doing L4 and anything requiring more skills and dedication.

I was lucky enough to be around when they first separated ship training into factions so spent months getting all ship types to lvl3 so at the update all of a sudden I had lvl3 (and some lvl4 ones I managed to train in time) on all factions so can now fly just about anything on the same account.

You basically just rolled out all the things you can do and say you can make an alt for that... What I would suggest for anyone, and this will be different for everyone, is find out how your going to 'pay for' that alt. Don't mean you need to have to make money in game to buy Plex, however it should have some economical benefit in some sort. Otherwise its just another toon your paying for that sits mostly not in use. Your money I guess. But ideally you want to be able to have 'full time use' as much as you can. What I did as my first toon was my 'Battle Toon'. This was back in the day when booster alts were a big thing. I figured I would turn my second toon into a booster/hauler/marketing toon so that my main battle toon can focus on battle things. When not 'in use', my 'Indy Toon' mines rocks. Between the 2 accounts, I now have 6 PI toons as well. Quite a diverse set of everything in some way or another. Both accounts easily makes economic sense. If I were to get a 3rd account, I would have to go stronger into Indy. More PI/Mining/Manufacturing. As for many of the examples you mentioned, most of them can more squarely fit on one of the 'main toons' I have created. I only deviate SP to other toons, like PI, if I absolutely think its necessary. I keep my SP on my 'Mains' as much as I can and as long as it makes sense for.

How are you able to have the 2 characters show up in the same screen, one full screen and the other like a tiny window?, if i dual actt i have to alt+tab from to the other.

I do it the same way. I have 2 monitors and 2 accounts with windows (sometimes 4 accounts). Its just OBS, my editing software, that lets me make a smaller screen so its easier for you guys to see both at once. I do know there is software specifically made to multibox but I dont know the name of it.

Could also use Isboxer, great tool for multiboxing.

I have one omega and four alts all being used for trade at the major hubs...

One is to have multiple toons for specific jobs.... But multiboxing three toons at once aint something thats appreciated... And now with the beta browser, you no longer limited to omega only multibox.... Now you can run omega on browser and alpha on launcher.....so i guess enabling the multitasking is encouraged ;)

I only use alts in a passive way. PI, industry and economic. I will mine and do move ops with them but I try not to play more then one character at the same time. In the end it is a game and I want to feel like I'm in the game and tring to do that with many characters I dont find fun. I would rather fleet with others then do it with my own characters.

@@solitude9875 not the 'most' profitable. Right now I think I am barely paying for their Omega status through selling the skill injectors they make. It used to be much more lucrative where you could profit 300m+ per month logging in once a month. Luckily I have other ways they can generate isk for me as well.

I use one alt for market trading, since my alt is in an alliance that has been wardec’ced and cannot go back to highsec cos I have negative standings, and my other alt for lowsec mining (all on the same account btw) I also have another account, with one toon trained for mining, another for salvaging and the third for hauling

Interesting, but I don't understand the interaction between your Main Character and an Alt. You mention using an Alt as an added miner with you in a Asteroid Belt or whatever. I'm confused as to how you run or operate two characters at the same time in the game. Also, do characters share assets between them, such as ISK? But thank you for spurring my interest in this idea. you can run multiple separate omega accounts at once. Like you can see at 3:05 I have my 'main' or higher skilled character clearing L4 missions while my other omega account is salvaging the wrecks. Alpha can ONLY run solo, you cant run an alpha & omega account, all accounts have to be omega. Any character can freely trade with any other character, so any isk, ships, assets etc I just trade between my alts.

When he mentioned the controversy at the beginning I assumed he was referring to spy alts, lol.

I made an alt that's about a year old now and it has helped me immensely. I originally trained it into a cyno ship to help move my capital ships around, but have trained it into ratting and mining also to help make some more isk. if I hadn't made my alt, my life in eve would be a lot harder than it is now and I wouldn't even be able to use any of the capital ships I now own. Btw, a cyno is used to lock jump drives onto from capital ships and jump freighters. You light it using your cyno ship with liquid ozone and then you can instantly jump a ship equipped with a jump drive to it so long as it's in range of the ship's jump drive. Also this only works in null and low sec.

​@@eventon9372 Essentially you fit a cynosaural field generator to a force Recon (Rapier, Arazu, Falcon, Pilgrim) and you activate it and it lasts for 5 minutes. you can't move or warp while it's active, so everybody fits as much buffer tank as possible to them, as you're essentially a sitting duck for 5 minutes. Also unless you're using a covert cyno it appears on overview for the entire system so it's very risky in a dangerous area. It takes a small amount of liquid ozone to activate it (between 500 to about 70 units depending on skills). Titans can also use a cyno to bridge to with a jump portal generator allowing an entire fleet to jump to it.

Nothing about a reprocessing alt, eh? That seems to be really popular in null, where scaling the different ore skills isn't needed for barges, cause barges and exhumers aren't all that popular.

Good point! I guess that could kinda go under Industry or Mining? From what I heard usually corps have a very small handful of players that reprocess everything for the corp with their max skills. But I could be wrong. Thanks for bringing this up!

@@eventon9372 I guess it's more common to have a reprocessing alt as a second character on the same account, trained with an MCT. That way you can contract your ores over and log out and into the new character. I personally run a repro alt and a market trading alt in Jita on the same account, so I only pay one Omega sub. It's effective, but those characters will never meet and interact together, so they're highly specialized.

@@eventon9372 no, caps go on your alt because 99% of fights don't need them, but 100% of fights need subcaps. The only caps that go on your main are ones you use in PvE. If your combat cap was on your main then your main would be sitting out of most fights and you'd be annoyed at yourself for not having a combat alt! I injected a T2/2 Revelation all all at once using 40 Large Skill Injectors... Achievable for anybody, right? 🤣

i cant be arsed listening to a video that takes 3 minutes of chattering that is consistant of repeating itself 10 times within those 3 minutes. make ur video's enterances a bit shorter, we get it what alt we want is dependend on ourselfs and ur everything but an expect giving advice.... dont need to mention it 10 times. I am too drained to watch it any further
