Hey TDS could you do a quick build comparison between Frostcraft and Fatalis SnS? I find quality of life to be better on Fatalis but cant tell if the damage difference is significant enough. I'd be happy to send screenshots of the two builds specifically, but you guys seem to min/max better than most. The primary skills i use on both are crit boost, weak exp, crit eye, max might for 100% crit uptime. Obvi fatalis lands more crits but they are weaker. However claw sheathing frostcraft is downtime on dps.

I ran evade extender once on Kirin... evaded extender dodges the perfect distance into his lightning lines. Normal evade woulda saved me. Never again on kirin lol.

The way you dodged that tremor with the arrow attack was just the most impressive flex of skill I have ever seen

I aspire to be that capable of slaying monsters one day. Right now I'm building up to fight Coral Pukei, then iirc Barioth.

@@SoeZ- it's weak to fire, and so does plenty of other monsters. The earlier I build up for it, the less time I have to spend later when hunting. I can just switch weapons as needed.

@@SoeZ- coral pukei pukei hits surprisingly hard as that's around when the defender armor starts to fall off for a lot of people and the tankiness of the defender set teaches new players a lot of bad habits imo. either way there's no shame in building something just for the fight, we all get better at games at different speeds.

Loved the way you used the Ark ost for the finale

I truly love that skill. I remember building one just for AT Velkhana and Alatreon alone. Alatreon could barely hit me with the thunder or other Elemental attacks. And with max blight resistance I didn't have to worry about dragonblight. Though sadly Alatreon moves a lot and the hitbox around it is absurdly big, the dashes were the only thing that sometimes hit me

This is why I want EE secret so I can dodge from one side of a wall to the other! Great job as always Vycery!

Base level rolling feels so awkward to me whenever I go back and play again not having my 2 or 3 points of Evade Extender in my build haha.

Agreed, but Evade Window also helps a lot. Having both as high as possible is maximum comfy/spastic gremlin mode. Makes Swaxe very fluid, too.

When the meme run is faster than your tryhard hunt against the big chonker, that's when you have a lot to think about as a Hunter

yeah I love this skill ever since I played monster hunter for the first time in world when it came out, I was like my dodges are too small and EE made it possible for me to fight the monster like I was a Monster since I can cover about the same distance just as fast as a monster positioning gets soo easy and huge attacks become normal ones non of this is explained you just feel the difference and I love it.

Evade extender is a must have skill on all weapons that don’t have an easy way to move around in every build I make, nice to see it finally getting some recognition

As im playing through monster hunter im having a nice time. Overcoming hard monsters, actually being able to farm decos albeit low quality ones for now, and trying new weapons (about time). I never though i'd have this much fun with the SnS of all weapons. But watching bow gameplay it looks so... peaceful? Like its a casual kinda feel that i'd like to try out and not the "oh god oh fuck im going to DIE" vibe i get whenever i play. So i might try bow now, ty.

Depends what class you are. I man sns i have a more perfect rush spam playstyle and evade extender effects the backhop which ends up making me too far from monsters to actually land the hits lol

My favourite skill in any monster hunter. I always prioritize it over anything else. I feel naked and vulnerable without it.

And a weapon that allows you to roll realy often and cancel attacks instantly, like the bow! If you use a SAED spam charge blade your evade extender will be usless 95% of the hunt

Any build without evade extender is incomplete. It just feels so much nicer, even with just 1 or 2 ranks of it. But this? This is nuts. Vycery just casually clowning on one of the most dangerous monsters in the game. Love it!

If anyone runs similar skills, can you tell me what set you use? I rock ▪︎Rajang hat ▪︎Kirin/Namielle shirt ▪︎Acidic Glavenous/Teostra gloves ▪︎Beotodus panties and ▪︎Yian Garuga/Furious Rajang slippers

you shouldn't use earplugs, it's rare when wyverns roar and since you use LS you can profit off it by parrying. It's a good thing to get used to (when monsters will roar) since 99% of the time you'll be able to punish the monster so long as you dodge/parry the roar. The only time their roar becomes dangerous is when they enrage, which is the most predictable roar they can do (because of wallbangs). Try fitting coalescence if you're running blight resistance. If you are going to use it, DON'T go for blight resistance 3, 2 is more than enough, 3 would make it way harder to activate coalescence. Coalescence gives a ton of damage while being easy to activate. I was thinking about stun resistance, I feel like you should not run it if you use coral orchestra in your palico, coral orchestra is actually amazing. Other than that Idk, it's personal preference, or more so your matchup vs the wyvern, I mean, if you get stunned by Fatalis it's over. I relate to speed eating 3 so much, it was SOO hard to say goodbye to it, it's so good, IMO speed eating 3 is way better than recovery up 3. Like the guy above me said you should try mushroommancer, there's an expert/mushroommancer deco so you can easily run it. One I recommend is evade extender for LS, I can't play LS without evade extender anymore, it doesn't feel nearly as good, seriously, try it out.

If you run max evade window and you are also using longsword I don’t see why you would need max earplugs. You can either just roll through the roars or use foresight slash and get meter off of it.

@@strateks9611 Its quite common for wyverns to roar especially since I never let them not be agitated (the red icon). That roar parry is not worth it, I'm saying from experience, I have to be able to be in that position where my character isn't in any animation to be ready to parry and roar stun is longer than most monsters stop roaring attacking before I recover, I can confirm this 100%. Other than the initial start roar or when another monter comes or when I wallbang them, no other roar is worth it. The worst part is when I'm clutched to their body and they roar me off. Coalescence is not worth it, I'd rather not be constantly blighted even if it dissipates 10 seconds later because some monsters blight is worse than others and not worth extra dmg. I make mistakes and get thrown around a ton, and not being stunned for even a second is life saving. I'm dependent on minimal healing (mainly because I'm a hoarder and only bring 4 mega potions per hunt) and relying on Palicos green bubbles and crafted my playstyle around that and some monsters I can't fight fight stun res 3 at all, like AT Velkhana Mushroomancer has always been the confusing one, like what mushroom gives what again and more importantly, I'd feel like I'm wasting those shrooms (cuz I hoard) I like Evade Window because it lets me roll through roars and a looot of attacks that I know I'd have gotten hit otherwise, if I swap with extender I feel like I'd suffer but I'll try it out for a few hunts since you say its that good

Wow, is there a Aim Assist on PS4 version ? The crosshair seem to stick on part.

I 'think' I've been saying this since like MH3U to my friends, "evade extender is all you need", but I always warned everyone... if you start playing with it, you better not take it off, because it's going to spoil you and ruin your dodge timing forever. (or at least until you get used to not having it)

Hi, I'm still a newbie and not very good at evading. So I tried max out my def + def(L) food + def buffs but still get 1 hit ko'ed in tempered monsters threat level 2. Any solution? Or I just need to practice evade timing each monsters?

Not an expert but seeing canteen tutorials have showed me to focus more on elemental protection/damage rather than defense L, I think there may be videos explaining that

​@@Lemon-li7vw absolutely correct. Elemental resistance L gives you 15% more damage reduction against every element while Defense up only gives you a flat Def increase. (Btw 1 point in elemental resistance equates to 1% damage reduction to that element, so if you have for example 30 fire resistance you take 30% less damage from fire)

Also if you haven't yet, try putting in Health boost in your set instead of Def boost since it's much more effective in letting you survive attacks than the damage reduction Def boost gives you. If that's still not enough try slotting in Divine blessing
