I think there are a lot of very talented people. Talent isn't that rare. So to break through you need star quality. Something to stand out. Unfortunately it means some great talents don't rise above the noise.

@@davidrfindlay talent by definition is rare thats what makes it special. and star quality is manufactured around being "hot" for female artist its based on looks and sex appeal

Beautiful voice

I love her so much. But listen, a soprano needs to transpose a song like this up a step or two. The head voice bits in the chorus just don't come naturally as they do in Adele's voice and she's going to a really dark place (literally) for the low notes. Honestly impressive that she can pull it off more or less but this really made me want to hear it in a higher key.

She’s not a soprano 😂 I’m a similar voice type/range to her and she has way too much richness and comfortability in those low notes for a soprano, its mainly shes just high notes are very light. It’s just a different interpretation of the song she could probably hit it similarly to Adele if she wanted to

@@ducc0287 would you describe her (or yourself for that matter) as a light Mezzo then? Maybe you're right about how comfortable she is in the lower range, but she still lacks the punch Adele has there. I've listened to a lot of her on here, I doubt she has the vocal weight to pull off what you call a different interpretation. Which by no means is a bad thing. Don't you think it would've been cooler to hear it a step up where she naturally can bring so much drama to her voice?

It's sad when the original artists have average voices. It is good that there are always singers with better voices to come and fix them like this.

Yes, the average voiced Adele. The Adele that managed to forge a world dominating career spanning decades despite her voice that is just mediocre.

That would work on certain artists. But definitely not Adele. She's already an established diva. To cross her takes some balls and demands a lot of talent yourself.

@@queazeproductions​​⁠Well, average certainly doesn’t mean mediocre. Mediocre means phoning it in, barely adequate. And average singing voice will be based on a comparison of all the voices we hear singing, which by definition will be mostly the more successful singers. And we might subconsciously limit our comparison to the top artists. So, would it be really disrespectful to say that among the top 20 female ‘pop’ artists, Adele’s voice might only be average, ie, putting her in the neighbourhood of tenth place? I have no idea whether that is true, only that I wouldn’t pick Adele as the best singing voice, there are other names that stick out for me like Amy Whinehouse.

It's there, but that microphone's not doing her any favours, the entire lower register and any rasp is almost muffled or smoothed out.
