sail boats already renewable with the sail, replacing the sail with an electric motor seems less renewable... i guess it's more complex than that

like you mention at 1:41. I think it's a great idea, if people in homes using natural gas want to move into a boat powered by sail and batteries, then they deserve the 30% tax credit

Yeah...but most use a lot of fossil fuels still. Propane for the stove. Diesel engine to make hot water (heat exchanger to the hot water tank from the engine), also useful for oversized alternators that are usually added to charge house banks quickly. Plus, many people just straight up motor WAY more than sail. If you have to get back at a certain time, you may drop the sails and motor directly into the wind for a day. Or, many just don't want the hassle of raising the sails, so they motor shorter stretches often. Sad when you have free energy blowing by over your head. Would feel way less guilty using solar and wind turbine power to motor somewhere.

It's like having an RV you can park anywhere you want. Different scenery every day if desired. Much better retirement than crowded KOA campgrounds, or places without hookups, where someone's always running a generator 24/7 and disrupting the piece and quiet.

what about this new electric car/plane? can I get 30% off for that?

If it has a bedroom, kitchen, and plumbed toilet, yes. Solar, wind, and energy storage could be a 30% tax refund. Has to qualify as a home, or second home. Which...would be an awesome thing for a plane.
