Eurovelo 1 - Why Graveyards are important & how i stopped drinking coffee
After spending a lot of time in Spain it is time to say ''Hasta luego España & Salut la France!''.
Hop on and pedal up while me and my bike are exploring amazing campspots along the Eurovelo 1!
I am proud to announce that I stopped drinking disgusting instant coffee and I am gonna explain why graveyards are immensely important for bikepackers.
Cheerio, Goodbye, Salut and Adios!

FYI - Just showing off with a little information …. In the US when you camp & sleep outside without your tent we call it “cowboy camping” because that is what our cowboys did was sleep outside no tent under the stars with their saddles as their pillows. You will see hikers on the AT, PCT., CDT refer to their cowboy camping, and when their can be a lot of morning dew to get your rig wet their use their tents footprint to cover them to keep them dry. If I just shared something with you you already knew I apologize. Still with you … enjoying your travels

South West of France. Bayonne where i was born, The Landes where i grew up, Hossegor , Capbreton , Seignosse the cities where i go to the beach. Now i live near Bordeaux and Aguitaine is my favourite place in France , i couldn't live somewhere else. Thanks for your video it's really inspiring.
11:01 On grass they are probably ticks. ....Most tick bites are painless and cause only minor signs and symptoms, such as a change in skin color, swelling or a sore on the skin. But some ticks transmit bacteria that cause illnesses, including Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain spotted fever.

Grave yards and fire departments! Both usually have mowed grass and make great secure bivouac sites! One is usually quieter (occasional siren)

I would recommend the "Sleepingo" inflatable mattress. Takes 11 breaths for me and has been quite durable for around $20. Loving the videos. Keep on keepin on!
Good luck to you, Lara!!!! Sunny Uzbekistan!

Good editing.
Congratulations on giving up coffee. You are blessed with some strong legs. Being able to sleep long hours is good too. Personally, I'm one of those who has a hard time relaxing and slowing down. I'm getting inspired. Even the fantasy is fun, part of the learning process too.
Great
Biscaya! The mpst beauitful part of Europe! Bless! Bismillah!
Gypsies in the old days, when they travelled by Bowtop or horse drawn, used grave yards to fill up water because they almost all have taps.
You got a drone now. Ye!
you will not be the first or the last close to the midlle of nowhere, bumping/bending/snapping off a derailleur, while struggeling to lift a bike over a fence,.......turming it around with the drivetrain away from you will eliminate most of that risk........just a tip ;-)

The only time I cowboy camp (without the tent) I make sure the dew point is below the low temperature.
I think that I would be doing it in the morning because I like the mornings when it's nice and cold I don't like riding in the heat

The little beasties biting you are probably ticks?😮 If they are ticks? They can cause Lymes Disease, which, if not treated early, can cause nerve problems years later!😮

Welcome. I don’t like coffee and never understood coffee people. My wife cannot function without coffee. Also my colleagues are all around the coffee machine each morning with trembling hands and zombie faces scanding “cooooffffeeeee”. Coffee is a drug and brings addiction that is a known fact. 🤷🏻♂️
im looking at doing this route, what are laws for overnight camping if you know any?
Lol … you absolutely kill me your biking around in flip flops … most Americans doing this would need all the most current hip techno equipment … kudos to you … part of your nonchalant charm in doing this adventure …

Hey 4:41 Das ist der Strand von Llanas, oder? Kleines Paradies dort.

If you don't want to drink coffee because of caffeine, try a decaffeinated coffee. Taste like instant coffee but no caffeine. (there is beer without alcohol, so also coffee without caffeine) Movie editing > mucho progress :) Salut :)

Unfortunately I picked up the real coffe again:D but you're right there is decaffeinated coffe which doesn't taste that bad :)
Do you bike in your sliders? Or flips flops or slippers or whatever they're called in English :D Isn't that dangerous?

How do you shower underway

Instant coffee is Nasty(!); There's a reason I pack a large bag of fine-ground coffee and an aero-press... (Life is too short for instant coffee!)
How many punctures do you get along the way?
@giantcheerio

Many many! Depends on the road conditions. But approximately 2-20 flats a month
I wanted to ask you if making the videos help you feel less alone when you are travelling? Im longing to do a bikepacking trip by myself but im not sure if loneliness will take over. I think making videos might help you feel connected? Im not even sure this makes sense but thought I would ask anyway. Ive been binge watching your videos recently after finding your channel. Ps. I could never give up ☕️ 😂😂

14 years ago I was traveling alone (9 months, half of the time hitchhiking) through South America. I was not making videos, but I was writing a blog and it was quite nice to know that there were people reading it. All the time I was looking forward to read the comments, so yes, you are feeling not so disconnected and alone in this way. Also taking photos and writing kept me occupied, which is a nice thing when traveling, and actually I found out that the photography was the thing that was driving my choices where to go and what to do. But anyways, when you travel you are not so alone all the time as you meet other people.

The little blood sucking animals in English these will be “ticks” and you really need to be careful with them, increasingly they are carrying very bad diseases - my neighbour has Lyme disease for many years now as a result of a tick. And it’s increasingly common, so yep - stay out of long grass. 😊
They're called ticks
Two things to get . 1 x sleeping bag liner as it helps keep Bag clean but ads a few Degrees. 1 x bivi bag. Going north if you feel you can’t be bothered putting up tent always get in the bivi bag keeps sleeping bag dry and adds a couple of degrees too. Plus it’s wind proof . A bivi bag as well as the tent not instead of. 😄
