Liz-this is a fantastic video. With my elderly parents coming to PT for 2 months this was perfect timing.

So glad it's helpful!!
Thanks! One Saturday afternoon, about a month ago or so, a building worker ran into my property in Lôgo de Deus, Eiras, on the outskirts of Coimbra shouting "chama a polícia". I rushed out of the house, dialling 112 as I went. There was a Brazilian man in his 50s, his wife and his son, who's in his early to mid-20s. They had been interested in renting the casa de arrumar (secondary house (more literally storage house) I have on one part of my property, but hadn't come up with the deposits and references required. I shouted at them "Vão embora ao Brasil". They got into two cars and then drove away. We managed to get some of the details of their license plates. Unknown to me, just before I came out the older man had pinned my builder, Paolo, to the ground and had pointed a pistol to his head (apontou (or tinha apontado) uma pistola a sua cabeça). This was witnessed by neighbours, one of whom said she had never seen such a thing in her life.
Muito obrigdao ! Boa quarta-feira.
Visualização essencial para todos! Muito obrigada para fazer esse vídeo tão útil Liz.

Muito obrigado irmã ❤
Excellent video, thank you!
My Mexican grandma’s name is Socorro 😂😂😂 I love the idea that in an emergency I am to call out for my grandma, since she raised so many kids and handled so many emergencies this seems right ☺️

Hah, I love this!!
o seu sotaque inglês é bonito demais ! acho que é britânico .
I was a 911 Telecommunicator for 16 years in the US. This was a great video and very important. I do have a question about saying "cento e doze". In the US we would never say call "nine hundred eleven" or even "nine eleven" . Because the only keys on a phone are zero through nine. Just curious if "um, um, dois" would be ok or not?

You would be understood but this is the way it is said in Portugal.
Hi Liz! this was very helpful, thank you :) Would you be able to make a video on giving birth at the hospital. I'm due soon and terrified I won't be able to understand and communicate properly with the doctors and nurses.

112 - connects you to the police If it's a police emergency you can speak If not - say it short: é uma emergência médica, etc And he will connect you to the medical staff (probably a nurse) or maybe firefighters, etc And then speak and listen to him Don't forget to have or know your adress
Are Flashcards in the future??
Hello, can I say also "perto de" instead of "por volta de"

For locations? yes!
Boa tarde, posso fazer uma pergunta? Posso dizer "Por favor, disque cento e doze" em vez de "liga para o cento e doze" ? usar o verbo discar é OK neste caso ? Muito obrigado pelo este video e pela toda sua ajuda.
