Thanks so much for your excellent video! - We have the 2019 Toyota Yaris Hybrid, and had great difficulty just before our last trip to France (May/June 2019) in trying to determine which kind of headlamp bulbs - i.e. Standard or Projector - the car has. We couldn’t find out in time (they weren’t specified in the handbook) so travelled without converters, contrary to the legal requirement in France! We’re now fully prepared for our next trip in September, so thanks again!

We were very confused until we realized this video explains for British cars going to the EU, whereas we have it all the other way around. In our manual, diagram #2 has the sticker on the 4 o'clock position, not 7 o'clock. But it all makes sense once you figure out this video is regarding British cars.

I have a Honda HR-V with standard headlamps. The Eurolites instructions say I should apply their circle to the 10-11 o'clock position on the driver's side and 1-2 o'clock on the passenger side. My handbook gives instructions on how to fit your own home-made adjusters using sticky vinyl. These seem to say the vinyl should be applied to the 10-11 o'clock position on both sides, driver and passenger. Can they both be right?

I have bought these in preparation for my visit to germany on the 20th and the guide is dated back to 2013 on the Renault Captur? My 2020 model captur has LED headlights and will be completely different from the diagram that will be on your instructions. Anyone know of any videos that I could watch that is more up to date and explains more recent vehicles and LED headlights?

The explanation of sticker placement (7 o'clock) doesn't make sense to me. The fact that back of the headlamp creates the light pattern, requires the location of the sticker shown on the video ONLY IF one would apply it ONTO the mirror, but NOT on the front shield. On the front shield the light is already travelling towards given direction and it's too late to speak about the mirrors.

We usually apply ours whilst on the ferry or train to France and we've got a bit of time spare. I presume you could apply them beforehand if the lights weren't needed.

+Paulo Esteves It is because the people in the GB drive on the left side of the and the headlights are designed to thow more light to the left and if you for example would take a road trip down to France where they drive on the right side of the road, the headlight would blind oncoming cars that's why you need those to deflect the light from your headlight so it doesn't blind oncoming traffic

I did not find the instruction or the video helpful for my particular car a Kia eNiro which has a "wrap around" light so it is not obvious where to place the disc. After a discussion with a local mechanic he suggests shining the lights on to a wall and moving the disc around on the glass until the raised up part of the beam is obscured.

Honestly, that's total bullshit. Cars shouldn't be leaving the production line without anti-glare lenses on their super-bright headlights. I mean, most new cars have a magnifying glass in front of a HI LEDs that blast out 10,000 candlepower. But the question is how much brighter they need to be before motorists are blinded outright to run off the road at night, worse still on a pouring wet and cold night where the windscreen fogs up and is smeared with all that bright white streak caused by wiper smear, not to mention when you're behind any of these shit boxes with they super-bright tail lights while waiting at the traffic lights, all that red smear on the windscreen (windshield), all that red light entering the interior of your car, all that red on your face. Do you think that all that red light is not harmful for your eyes? No? Well, stare at the bright red LEDs of the brake lights while you wait for the traffic lights to change and then look in a darker area and see how you're blinded by having a rosy while halo that blocks your ability to see things that you could see before you were blinded. That is the damage these LEDs do to your eyes. That is also the damage that those super-bright headlights without an anti-glare shield will do to your eyes. They also, I hope you know this, increase fatigue, tiredness and accidents. This problem is overdue. You do not need to purchase stick-on and stuff. This is a serious breach of the Road Safety Regulations and the Government as well as those who register these shit boxes with faults and all shall be held responsible for the number of unsafe features added to cars that were not permitted 20 years ago. It has now escalated to dangerous level and something needs to be done about it, the sooner the better.

+Mick Carson These are for driving abroad where you drive on the right and UK dipped headlamps will be pointing in the wrong direction - that is into the eyes of the other drivers! That's why they're called 'EUROlites'!!

+Mick Carson I don't think you understand, headlamp deflectors are put on the deflect the light from oncoming drivers ,In the UK, our headlamps shine to the left, this will dazzle oncoming drivers on the continent (which only consists of France according to the video). The first time I drove through Germany I didn't bother fitting them and got quite a few oncoming drivers flashing at me.

  • @snellewilly

@@simonepleton765 its sometimes next to the dustcap of the bulb. sometimes next to the bulb. depends on what car you have. a bmw e39 has a see through cap on the top. if you remove it you can reach a lever. pus this lever and the lights are for rhd roads. its only made to block the light when you drive on the opposite side of the road. like i live on europe(it sucks) and travel alot to the uk(where i was born) so when i pul the lever on my alfa romeo 159 (bottom if the dustcap) it blocks the light. its handy if you travel every week to the uk. and drive 100k a year.(every day on the road)

DO NOT DO IT!!! In some countries you can get penalty for such a thing. Those stickers are not required if going to Europe. After removing them the beam can change because you block the heat with the sticker. You won't be stopped by police for not having them
