Euro Nymphing Tactics: Euro Dry Dropper With Josh Miller

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this instructional fly fishing video, Fulling Mill Signature Tyer Josh Miller walks us through some crucial tips on euro nymphing with a dry dropper setup. Euro dry dropper, as it's often called, is an extremely effective way to target trout in a variety of water depths. It excels when fishing at distance, and when you need to get your drift to slow down. In this video Josh talks about tippet, fly selections, approaching water, casting, setting the hook and a bunch more. Even if you're fishing dry dropper on a regular floating line there's a lot in here for you to learn.
Josh Miller is a full time fishing guide in Pennsylvania with his business, Trout Yeah Guide Service. He was a member of Fly Fishing Team USA, and won the Youth Fly Fishing World Championship as head coach of the US Youth team in 2023. Josh has been a Signature Tier with us for a number of years. For 2023 he added 3 fantastic new euro nymphing specific flies-the Zone Stone, The Simple Sulphur and The Clueless Caddis.

I really like the way you explain the way you fish I’ve been Europe fishing for quite a while. I’ll say at least 10 years better and I see you guys on video now you’re pretty much doing the same thing I’ve been doing and all my fishing in the Catskills Delaware river systemand you’ve helped me out tremendously. Thank you very very much.

When I have tip wrap I'm reluctant to have my flies in the water. Breaking the rod down in two is a good idea, never thought of that.

Hello, great video. How about instead of a tag for the second nymph we tied on the eye of the hook? I can think of few positives and couple negatives but never tried it

Josh, great video and some solid tips. In a previous video you fished upstream with a micro leader and a single nymph. Can you share the sizes of the nymph leader and sighter in that video compared to the the dry dropper leader and sighter in this video? Thanks

Are you using a blood knot for your dry fly tag?
