Great analysis. I agree with most of it. The only worry for England will be the very average defence. When you have Kane, Bellingham, Phoden and Saka, you must expect great things. Portugal is the best outsider, no doubt, but Germany on home soil, and Italy as current Champions also up there. Still, anyone wanting to win will need to get past France, which, incidentally, also has its weaker spot in defence.

I don‘t agree with hungary. Looking at their last 15 games on first sight it looks strong, however when you analyze the games they had you‘ll find out that they drew several times against weaker opponents like lithuania and their games against serbia were won but the playing stats show that serbia was the better team in both games. I believe a lot of the reputation is due to them overperforming in the nations league against england.

I think I will struggle to get out of the group stage. The team is lacking a manager. Only if maybe the players go gungho we have a chance

our defence is weak but we have some of the best attacking players in the world. doesn't suit gareths tactics but we NEED to attack more or we will lose. it's about scoring more than your opponent, not keeping clean sheets

Great attacked talent, their defence isnt great though. Knockout tournaments typically come down to the best defence.

Yes we have the best player in Germany, England and Spain this year but losing Maguire is a massive blow. His partnership with Stones could have just pulled us over the line but now we are very weak at the back.

Problem with England football every tournament is our closed minded hype view of it all. We don't seem to have any ability to retrospectively analyse our previous years and how armchair pundits hyped it up then. Through like the last 10 years of England playing, they've never seemed dominant even against teams you would have thought should've been easier. Their goals all seem reliant on penalties and tap ins and while maybe as an Englishman their play doesn't seem all that aggressive and attractive, I still think they've never looked convincing, particularly against the bigger teams. I remember when they beat Germany 2-0 I thought beforehand that this is where we get kicked out because we hadn't really been tested, but Germany had so many chances and probably says more about them than us. I think when it comes down to it in terms of quarter/semi finals, we will likely lose against an Italy, France, Germany, Portugal etc. Maybe pessimistic and I'll be proven wrong with the amount of offence Southgate has brought but need to look at the past to look forward.

I don't know about the Netherlands winning the Euros but they will fancy their chances on reaching the final with history on their side. The Dutch reached the 1974 WC final in West Germany. They reached the 1988 Euro final and won it also in West Germany. The Dutch could be the first side to reach three finals all in same country.

They hype around the British Doucoure is gettn nauseating at this point. Foden is 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 biggest talent.

I'm just looking forward to great goals and great games, lots of upsets and drama. Oh, and England winning would be the cherry on top!

England are actually a weaker team than they were last time. Their attack has improved, but their defence has deteriorated. On top of that, Southgate is not an attack-minded coach. They are not as balanced as they were last time. In terms of squad strength, this is my top 5 at the Euros: *1. France* (Best squad in the world. Virtually no weaknesses.) *2. Portugal* (Second-best squad in the world. Virtually no weaknesses.) *3. Spain* (Nearly equal to Germany.) *4. I genuinely think England will struggle to get out of the group.

France are the team to beat, their squad is stacked. Portugal and Germany will also be tough. I'm not holding my breath, just going to enjoy the games

I think the first minute of the video sums up everything. England will be lucky to get out of the group let alone get 2nd in the group.

We have to have a mentality of out scoring teams over a 1-0 win as I can't see our defence holding up for 90 against the better teams, our attacking side though I'd argue could win it for us as we do have the strongest attack in the tournament. Either way I'm a patriot and want my country todo well. COE!

Portugal for me

We had a golden chance to win it at home against Italy. Southgate went missing ,Mancini didn't. I really don't see Gareth Wokegate leading us to victory.

Wasn't just about your Southgate going missing. Your best players go missing in the biggest quality games. You ain't got it. Your English grassroots academies stifle technique and vision for speed and reliability. That alone is going to limit you every time you have the opposition bread on quality rather than (for example) rice looking great for pass accuracy but everything is a safety ball. You're breeding your players to strive for opta rather than risking the win Fair enough the ridiculous wages drive this phenomena.

No they shouldn’t. The side is overhyped to death and we’ve got half a squad that havent even had 10 international caps. They’re gunna be nervy and unreliable this tournament I can just feel it. Should’ve taken experience such as Eric Dier, Grealish, Rashford even Sterling. The forwards we’ve brought such as Toney, Bowen, Watkins and Gordon just aint gunna cut it. Not world class players

All this obsession of wanting to play "beautiful" football throughout a tournament is strange. I can't remember a single team barring Brazil that has done that. If people wanna say Spain go back and check they won the WC, and only scored 2 goals twice in the whole tournament ( Group stage against Chile and Honduras), nearly all their matches were 1-0 be it at the Euros and WC( Barring the final against Italy, we Italy imploded). Just look at France, Italy, Portugal and Germany wins, you win by being pragmatic and solid especially in the KO stages. So if you're thinking it works like you're playing FIFA were you put all your offensive players out and outscore the opponent you're absolutely dreaming! You can have as many offensive players as you want but if you aren't solid defensively you've got litte chance unless you've got that old Brazil level of talent, which England don't, plus their defense isn't great either. Look at how Deschamps plays and Southgate plays they're nearly identical, just that one has Mbappe and the other thinks they are better than they really are...

England, One of the big players will get injured in the 2nd or 3rd game and heads will drop. Shaw will pull up in one of the games and be out until possibly the final. England will never get there because as soon as they come up against one of the big teams Southgate’s useless tactic will take over and they will bow out again. Against the top 10 nations England has 49% possession, 1 expected goals, 1.3 expected goals conceded. 11.6 shots faced. For the attacking quality England has, those stats tells me Southgate doesn't utilize England's strength in attack. Southgate is pragmatic to put it mildly.
