They battle for 3 rounds in the beginning, and mc ask them win or lose (like summer dance forever). Both say they win so keep going to the 4th and 5th round. Judges choose start at the 6th round, so as you can see judges choose MT Pop win at that round. But there is one more rule that... If you don't think you lose, you can keep battling until someone give up... Super tired battle rules lol😅😂😅😂

Both did very well. Eung has amazing skills. Mt PoP's creativity is off the charts, he always brings something new and exciting. He seems to never stop improving. I love that he never takes himself too seriously and has fun with it. He is moving up my list for sure. Definitely made my top 5 after his showing this year. This is a good demonstration of the power of having a large vocabulary mixed with good creativity. Because most popping ''battles'' are 2-3 rounds usually, most arent pushed into deep waters. If anyone has been in a real call out battle going more than 5 rounds, they can understand how defeating it feels to run out while your opponent keeps coming with new things every round. MT Pop can be outdone in these 2-3 rounds ''battles'' but in a multi multi round battle, the difference becomes clear. His story telling ability is also very good, something thats being lost in popping. How he summons the snake and is charming it, then the snake tries to bite him, all while staying in the music, is something you rarely see. I like how mt pop focuses on longevity, being able to come with new stuff every round, rather than pure technique. I would love to see other high level poppers do these 5/6/7 round battles. Greentech was able to keep up and we saw him dig DEEP when he battled in the cypher battle, how many more can do it? this is an exciting time for popping.

I wholeheartedly agree with your statement. Because you posed the question, I would put Hozin in that group as well. IMO, The key to longevity and winning battles is knowing when to use subtlety and micro moves as the music dictates while creatively building up the anticipation level of what's to come. Generally, true excellence in the art of dance comes from the rare marriage of musicality, creativity and skill. Like the dancer is fluent in the unique language spoken by only that song and interprets it through dance harmoniously. Very few people are able to pull this off masterfully.

@@MarcelousTV yea, and the current format of "battles" doesn't really facilitate this type of dance. 45 second for prelim rounds and 1 minute battle rounds is not the the way forward in my opinion. Slim for example can take 20+ seconds to feel the song. I think many many people have the skill to merge all those, but the time limit and the expectation of what one must do to progress makes it difficult I understand why battles are the way they are, but if they are to progress and allow for the things you talk about, they need to do several things in my opinion 1.They could go the JACK OF ALL TRADES route and force creativity out of people. Every orange will produce juice if you squeeze hard enough. 2.They could have battle prelims rather that performance prelims. People dance differently when facing another person 1v1 than having to dance like they are in a runway model show. 3.Split up the styles, have specifically tutting battles, animation battles, boogaloo battles. It's an unspoken rule, especially in Asian countries, that a boogaloo based Foundation has a higher chance of winning than animation based Foundation, I feel this will help negate that. 4.The top poppers, rather than competing in the battles themselves with everyone else, have exhibition battles, where the dancers are guarantee paid. This will take the burden off of these dancers to "win" letting them be more creative. 5. Have stricter rules on the number of people that can attend the battles. For example, cap the number at 64, and this will allow you to make the rounds longer per person. I know this will mean less money comes in overall, but I'm thinking about the art, and not the money 6. No big stages. Stages should not exceed s certain size. If you are on a huge stage, far away from the people watching, it persuades you to dance big to take up space, the stage should be big enough so you can take up space if you want, but shouldn't be compelled to if you don't want to. Summer dance forever is a good example. I'm sure there are more, but I think having these things will help poppers and the competitive dance scene overall to be more expressive, have more confidence, and allow them to connect with the music.

Feel you so hard on this. Everyone focused on super clean technique and hits that are super hard, but like can you make me feel like you're blurring the line between you responding to the music and the music appearing to suit itself to what you want to do? MT Pop plays with his sets. He has fun. He's trying to spark your mind and take you into his world. Create characters, concepts, illusions and weave a spell through movement. That's what is so incredible for me as a popper who started back in like 2006. This was a style and application of the dance that i wanted to try myself but it never had any traction at battles. I mean sure, i was never as good as MT Pop but it's awesome to see his approach finally getting recognition and props in the scene.

Okay I have to say this Eun-G, you are absolutely the best female popper I’ve ever seen! You are like Wonder Women in DC Universe 🔥🔥🔥 the energy you put on table is too strong WOW!!! Huge respect to you Eun-G and congratulations to MT Pop, you’re both amazing! ❤️❤️❤️

This is the best I've seen of Mt pop, u can tell he was hunger for the W. Mt pop groove is one of the best in popping, imo. It sucks that Eun-g had to go this many rounds against Mt pop, the only one that stand a chance against Mt pop on that many rounds is Future.

Greenteck is no joke, and he has way more than just pops. Future is amazing as well, totally agree, but if i have to choose 1? GT

Eun G just hits too hard right away that she does not let up for the music to sink in and vibe through. Meanwhile, poppers like MT and Slim Boogie always takes their time to ease in and groove. That pretty much taxed her physically through the rounds. BUT!!!! respect is given when deserved! kudos to those two for beefin it up through the rounds. Got to see an MT vs Slim this year and I just hope to see rounds between MT and Teck that's not in a 7 to smoke before the year ends.

Eun.G. All technique, no feeling or musicality. Only dances to the beat. Never the music. If she learned to groove and feel, to let go and create, she'd be a powerhouse. If she stays this course, she'll only ever be a great popper. You can tell she's thinking of what moves to do before she does them. You can't feel that way. I hope she sees this. She's only holding herself back. She has a harder hit that MT. She has amazing foundation. The difference is MT creates, dances and grooves, and let's go.
