I want John Cleese to deliver a eulogy at my funeral ⚰️😂
Transcript:
"Graham Chapman, co-author of the ‘Parrot Sketch’, is no more. He has ceased to be, bereft of life, he rests in peace, he's kicked the bucket, hopped the twig, bit the dust, snuffed it, breathed his last, and gone to meet the Great Head of Light Entertainment in the sky. And I guess that we’re all thinking how sad it is that a man of such talent, of such capability for kindness, of such unusual intelligence, should now so suddenly be spirited away at the age of only forty-eight, before he’d achieved many of the things of which he was capable, and before he’d had enough fun.
Well, I feel that I should say, “Nonsense. Good riddance to him, the freeloading bastard! I hope he fries.”
And the reason I feel I should say this is, he would never forgive me if I didn’t, if I threw away this glorious opportunity to shock you all on his behalf. Anything for him but mindless good taste. I could hear him whispering in my ear last night as I was writing this: “All right, Cleese - he was saying - you’re very proud of being the very first person ever to say ‘shit’ on British television. If this service is really for me, just for starters, I want you to become the first person ever at a British memorial service to say ‘fuck’!”

British sense of humor is no different from any other nation's sense of humor. The british are not superior. There are people with sense of humor and there are people without it. If you live in the UK for a while you will understand it. You will also understand it if you gain more knowledge from all around the world. It's worth it. People are funny. Or you can claim no, they are not and keep the british in higher regard than any other nation. It will be your loss. I'm glad I chosed the better way.

It was a memorial service, not a funeral.
It is even more beautiful if you know that Cleese was with Graham when he died and in a documentary he speaks of how important it was for him to be there for him in his last moments. Chapman was one of his closest friends.
Brilliant even on what is normally a very difficult and sad occasion!
went to England and London in 2014 and the o2-arena - just for theese guys , a night i'll never forget...cleese voice was allmost gone,but we didnt care..it was epic!
The perfect send off. Thanks for sharing this with all of us.
I’m sure the almighty and all those of the heavenly realm were happy as hell to welcome Graham. I know my dad will very happy!

Me three...I hope when the assembled are regaled with so many stories of how many times I made a complete ass of myself that no one can catch their breath from uncontrollable laughter...! Better to be a source of mirth than of mourning...

Nobody was weeping or sobbing, Chapman would have been extremely happy.
If you gotta go .. leave them smiling at the end...
this eulogy has the most four letter words in such a short dissertation.
They are and were all brilliant!!

Nice. Always liked the Monty Python. They would be cancelled today. The world is so boring now that everyone is offended by everything. Which wouldn't be a problem, if they weren't listened. But they are.

The older I get, the more I regret being influenced by these immature idiots. I should also add that the team's productivity ended when Chapman died, which shows you which car was pulling the train.

I guess you never understood the Monty Pythons sense of humor if you find this eulogy rude and narcissistic. Otherwise you’d know it was the perfect send-off and a great commemoration of Chapman.
