Eugen Drobisch (b. 11 June 1839 Augsburg, d. 30 January 1901 Osnabrück) was a German composer and conductor. He was the son of the Augsburg-based composer Carl Drobisch (1803-1854). Eugen seems to have largely withdrew from composition later in his career. He worked as a conductor, teacher and organist in Landau, Minden and Rotterdam.
The breadth of Eugen Drobisch's oeuvre is fairly limited. His major works were the two early symphonies (E major, 1858 and a minor, 1860), the 1-act romantic opera Treuhold und sein Sang (1861-62) which was performed several times to good - if provincial - success, and the cantata Frühlingsweihe (1865). His published works include piano pieces and lieder. He also composed liturgical music.

Took me 3 minutes to realise that this was a digital recording... before the strings at around 03:00... and I work in Musescore... thought that this was an old live recording. Thank you very much for sharing this rarity! This is such a lovely composition... and the amount of work is monstrous.
