Dead Winter during the Thirty Years War, which was the topic of the post, the Russians were busy during the Time of Troubles / Muscovite-Polish War. I find the 30 years war rather funny because it started as a relgious war but arguably ended up being an excuse for people (many of whom were from the same denomination) to kill each other, plus witch hunts became prevalent again so there's that too.

+El Garca It's not 1500 but rather 1600 unless the player triggers it sooner...because the AI is usually too scared to attempt something bold in this game. The ottomans are totally OP in the current state of the game, France used to steamroll everyone too but after some nerfs they don't hit like a tank though.

I don't understand why France in on the Protestant team? France was historically Catholic. Does France tend to go protestant in EU4 (I've never played the game)?
