Brittany comes from "Little Britain". In French it's even called "Bretagne" when GB is Grande-Bretagne. So the obvious choice is to make a Breton Empire with some actual ancient British territories : British Isles, British North America and the island of New Britain in the Pacific which is called "Nouvelle-Bretagne" (New Brittany) in French

Because basically the Prince-Bishopric is represented by "Verden". Also don't get me started about how the second (Arch-)Bishop of Hamburg-Bremen is a Count in CK3 .. ffs I wrote a paper about you Rimbert and now you aren't even a member of the clergy!

The reason Brittany is called Brittany is that a large group of Celtic people from Britain escaped there during the Anglo-Saxon invasion. So, it's payback time. Reconquer Great Britain and culture convert it to Breton culture.

You say at the end that you like to take things a bit slower for tall games, and while I agree that this is slow expansion for eu4, just imagine if in the real world a small city in the hansa conquered most of northern Germany, all of Denmark, and major population centers in Sweden and Norway within a century.

It's always a little strange when people question why deleting cavalry is a good idea. Almost every poor tiny nation I try out seems to start with 2-4 cavalry for whatever reason, sometimes 6, and it's just such a huge economy drain for fairly little benefit. I remember one of the things Arumba would (or perhaps still does) teach is this fact. Similar to how cannons aren't that effective at tech 7 vs their cost.

What small nation start with 6 ... Bs. It's just that cavalry is better but expensive but deleting it and building a troop is just waste if money... Sry deleting it is stupid just fight with it and then onsulate

@@DaxRaider Your ignorance isn't my problem. If you're going to start a war immediately, sure use the cavalry first and then drop it. That isn't always the case, though, and in those cases they aren't worth it. There are a plethora of sources you can look up to show that early game cavalry's cost-to-benefit ratio doesn't justify the price tag of the unit in most circumstances. If you want to hamstring your early-game eco with unneeded cavalry, go right ahead. As for a small nation that starts with 6 cavalry, I don't remember what nation I was thinking of, but I seem to recall there was some small/poor nation I played as that starts with 6. The comment you're replying to is from months ago and I haven't played EU4 in months while waiting for the next DLC, so idk.

It's funny, how you upload this today, since today Bremens Football Club (Werder Bremen --> hence the Bavaria Achievement) scored a major Football Victory against it's fiercest Rival Hamburg ! And in game you actually annexed Hamburg in the first few years. This coincidence mead me chuckel. It's a double win for Bremen today 😄

I'd like to see the return of the 2 objective for the Brittany campaign. One like a colonizer and the other one to create a wall of province to block Europeans nation from having a port into the Atlantic ocean

Also, a Celtic Union as Brittany sounds fun. Cornwall, Wales, Scotland, and Ireland.

Brittany sounds like Britain, so how about form Great Britain as Brittany and reform the British Empire based on its Victoria 2 borders? And we all know that the English Channel is the most valuable trade node in the game, so how about control over 70% of that trade node as Brittany and achieve bankruptcy WITHOUT manually clicking the bankruptcy button? Gotta break the bankruptcy-less streak somehow...

Great video

watched A to Z videos and noted that you never spying on next war target during the war so you can end this war and set the claim right after. Emperor cannot ask you for unlawful territory while you at war, so you peace out, make claim, attack right after next target and meantime you core the land you just got. So after it becomes your core the emperor cannot more ask for unlawful territory

Looks like in every A-Z Campaign a lot of crazy stuff happens around you, especially in Europe! :P Brittany has two unique quest rows in its mission tree, one for conquering France and the other one for Colonisation. Why not finish those two Quest rows and conquer a nation that sounds similar to you, like Britain! ;)

For Brittany, i guess uniting all of the lands that used to be inhabited by Celts? With limitations on how far you have to go, because at tthe biggest expense that'd be a loooot of territory!

You had the chance to make half an achievement here. Own as core the province of Werder ("Stern des Südens" achievement).

You might be lower energy this week but I watch your videos at 1.25x speed so you always seem high energy to me

I wonder, do formable nations like the United States count for this challenge? I mean if so it's gonna be a few years before you get to it but it'll be interesting to see if you choose the easy native route or the harder British route or go completely hethen style and choose /averts eyes... french (I kid lol).

Red hawk ive been thinking lately, i think you can exploit transfer trade power, if some guy has better trade than you and is a merchant republic or eastern plutocracy, you transfer trade power agreeing that he would pay you money, wouldnt that mean a trade goods produced increase thus everyone makes even moar money..., including you directly

Starting as a free city, you should definitively pick the Free City mercs, as after your first war you'll lose your title as a free city and you won't be able to hire them. So you can get both free city merc and free mercs. nice :)

You should play as reformed sometimes! As Brittany, you should free the celts (by conquering Scotland, Wales, Ireland, and Cornwall) and vassalize the English. You should consolidate the Bordeaux trade node completely and (maybe?) vassalize the French after dismantling them. Possibly colonize US too for "New Brittany"... since Chesapeake trade leads directly to Bordeaux.

Btw, what mods do you use?

I would vote for uniting all the celtic peoples as Brittany (Ireland, Isle of Mann, Scotland, Wales, Cornwall, and maybe the northern coast of Iberia). I know mods aren't a part of this series, but one that changes the cultures a bit to reflect this could be nice, or one that lets you form a "Celtic Union" of sorts.

If you're just spamming galleys, naval force limit is just a suggestion. You can go way over, the extra cost barely matters. Just another reason maritime is bad.
