Apple Inc., Alphabet Inc.’s Google and Meta Platforms Inc. face the risk of potentially hefty fines as the European Union opened a full-blown investigation into the firms’ compliance with the new Digital Markets Act. Bloomberg's Alex Webb reports.

EU always fines company to get rich. Ridiculous. Innovate, don't fine.
I have read this article on other new sites, if you actually review things the new legislation stipulates that the first offenses 10% of the companies global revenue in for repeat offenses it is 20% of the companies global revenue. This is a blatant money grab by the EU to finance whatever they want to finance by milking money from America just like they want America to pay for the war in Ukraine and to have USA pay for all the weapons that’s what this really is occurring in my opinion. I say the tech companies refuse to pay and shut off EU access, it is quite simple to do.

Okay, so the US companies have shaped an industry, Europe has not been successful in developing organisations so let’s try and fine companies. Is this business friendly if your industries are less competitive? Ecosystem of these companies is why they attract customers, would I be an Apple customer if they didn’t have an ecosystem sceptical. EU high tax low efficiency social state.

EU is EU but they will do these anyway time to time no matter what these companies do. And citizens of EU never see that money thats for sure. Soon elections and EU will be less socialist.

Agree with most of your statement here, however because of the structure of the EU it’s also quite hard for the European right to form governments “Dutch elections”. The continent doesn’t have a strategy apart from over regulation and reduction in living standards meaning PPP.

An appstore is similar to mortar and brick stores but must use the ecosystem usability. An app purchased in IOS appstore isn't interchangeable to Android. Therefore the contextual price is obviously definitive and understood by the buyers.
