I read that there is a program to bring people back to the Western islands by helping with home repairs there. I would love to help with that. Imagine gathering people to talk about creating strong communities again. Members of the diaspora could come back a month at a time each year and help with repairs, help on farms while learning about the culture and history. Just throwing this out there. Thoughts?

The vote was already put to the Irish people back in March and the results could not have been clearer -- Irish people voted overwhelmingly to stop the plantation of Ireland. This is a matter of historical fact. Now, our feckless leaders are trying to use Ireland's "obligations" vis a vis the EU *again* to subvert the will of the Irish people. Irish politicians who fail to achieve their goals, which are the goals of foreign interests, habitually use the entangled web of treaties and supernational obligations as a pretext for repudiating their responsibility to the Irish people. "We have no other choice," they always say as they cast up their hands and shake their heads. It's become abundantly clear that the EU and, yes, the UN itself has become a way of undermining Irish national sovereignty -- to the avowed end of demographically replacing the Irish people.

Brilliant news I won't have to change money anymore. I got a check from the Prize Bonds, I tried to cash it first at the Post Office, then at Two different banks in the High Street, that I have accounts with, one account now opened 50 years ago, None of them would cash the Cheque, They said I would have to send it to their Branch in England to get it cashed, did you ever hear such nonesence, I have a wee account in the Bank of 🇮🇪 Ireland, Dundalk, so I had to send it to them, I send by registered post, so I know they received it, I sent them my Email address, and asked them to notify me if they put it into my account. They didn't even have the decency to do that. Get out of E.U. and take the country back from the traitorous scum that you have in power there at the moment. And don't allow free speech to be done away with, or the freedom of Religion. Ireland the land of Saints and Scholars, BRING her back again to this. Love you all, Winifred Thompson. I was watching Euro 2024 and I saw that advertisement for Vodafone with a lighthouse with a strongly implied budding romance between an Irish schoolboy and an African girl. This resonates and reinforces that recent "Romeo & Juliet" play with Jesuit-schooled Tom Holland and a black Juliet. And that Woodies "Larry" advertisement where a white woman and a black man couple appear at the end. At the entrance of Tesco I saw a "BBQ FEASTS This Summer" Coca-Cola ad showing a black man and a white woman. Inside Tesco I saw a Gillette Olympic Games promotion showing "Irish" Olympic Athlete Rhasidat Adeleke.

Now it is what most lrish encounter though anyway - in their workplaces, in schools, in everyday situations, which supports a 'normalcy' of the absurdity. I mean, to whom is any native lrish person going to complain? Name one government body genuinely representing true lrish interests at the moment? Just look to the UK. Been happening there since the 1950's. Sure, the royalty and their financial backers were behind colonisation but they made up less than 1 percent of the whole British population. So, the logic followed that the 99% regular joe's descendants generations later had to endure unwanted and unvetted migration as a punishment for crimes they had absolutely nothing to do with let alone profited from? Sounds sorta similar to the lrish 'financial crash' in 2008 whereby poor average taxpayers were left paying off billions of bankers and developers debt vis-a-vis the USC. It's a joke!

Unfortunately democracy is no longer the answer .. the time for talking is over their laughing in our faces
