Never heard about this game before, what's so relevant about beating up that enemy?

I haven't played any Etrian Odyssey games either, but it looks like this is one of the first of many FOEs in the game (looks like the strongest one of the first dungeon). Basically, FOEs are enemies that are significantly higher level than everything else in their dungeon, and are visible on the dungeon map instead of random encounters. They are meant to be avoided, not fought, at least until you're overleveled from playing through later dungeons.

@@SwerveStarEx I gave in and searched it, and you're exactly right. Also somewhat unrelated but the term FOE reminds me of a Touhou video, I guess that was the reference.

@@Dexuz I probably know exactly the one you're talking about, hahaha. XD I think it's because the Kedamas look remarkably like the symbols that represent the FOEs in the field in early EO games.
