ETL Testing | How to Validate Source and Target data
It involve validating the entire data set in both the source and target tables using a minus query. Both source minus target and target minus source must be performed. If the minus query returns a value, this indicates that there are mismatched rows.

In that case we have to work closely with BA and Dev team on daily basis to understand the requirement and prepare our own mapping sheet...

If you find mismatch records then what are the further steps that have to follow How to find those mismatch records

once u get the mismatch, it means there is a bug in transformation logic... after getting mismatch u hav to report an issue and assign it to dev team..
If source is a flt file and target is DB, if there are millions of records it is not possible to validate in excel. In this case how can we validate?

no it wont be possible in excel... either u have to use automation to validate or else import all flat file in db and then validate
