when we prepare test cases, we are only preparing test cases that are mentioned on (STTM) mapping document right? or do we need to prepare other test cases that are not in the STTM? for example nulls validation and other validations? this one has always confused me.

Hi, ETL tester has good scope and you can move on to Big data testing, Data lake testing further. So be confident and learn it. SQL and Unix is mandatory

yes correct, That's the way we can test it, Approach 1: Create a stage layer in TD and do one to one load in TD and compare TD stage to TD target. Approach 2: otherwise we can go with some tools like QuerySurge to compare data from two different data bases.
