Ethnomethodology, Harold Garfinkel's ideas made simple, a beginners guide

Ethnomethodology and Harold Garfinkel's ideas are more simple than you think! In this beginner guide, I'll walk you through them.
We'll start off by putting ethnomethodology in context, positioning it as the applied version of phenomenology.
After that we'll break down the ethnomethodological view of the social world and social order - in a nutshell, there is no tangible, external social order! It's all just an illusion!
Once we've digested that, I'll explain some of Garfinkel's more detailed ideas like the reflexive construction of reality and indexicality, drawing on his findings from the infamous Counselling Study and other breaching experiments.
By the time we get to the end of the video, you'll be much clearer about ethnomethodology and it will no longer be an intimidating word!

thank you for making this video very interesting. Intrigued by Garfinkel's framing of reflexive construction of reality (which I feel it a valuable side note to explain the underlying reasoning of multiple realities), the counselling study and the breaching experienment.
