Very funny. If you could find an unblocked clip of the probably preceding business meeting sketch of introducing Jonathan to the group, I'd be delighted. Saw it a few years ago, loved, it, and now can't find it (unblocked), again. I loved it because it poked fun at us non-Indians who have trouble with long Indian names (because they are unfamiliar). After seeing it, and laughing (also at myself), I've made a concerted effort to learn them.

Bharatha Varsham I think it is a satirical poke at the stereotype of Indian and south Asian people in the UK media, exposing the absurdity by "putting the shoe on the other foot" all while being hilarious
One of ,if not best comedy shows of the last 30 years

This was so clever, I appreciate this even better the second time round.

Can’t believe how even after 12 years it’s so relevant here in the US - given all the DEI discussions!
Actually, when being a minority in other countries, this is kinda like what happens a bit

It’s making me so happy to read the comments such as, ‘as usual, british comedy is the best’, not only because I’m british and I’m glad others enjoy our comedy, it’s mostly because I’m so happy that people are acknowledging everyone as british, and not just the white person. It’s pretty unusual for KZread comments.

I thought it was particularly absorbing how the British character price was so low. How all became okay once he received an extension on his contract. So, they layer him with stereotypes, then show him one minute being upset only to end up showing the audience he has embraced a stereotype.

One common factor is all groups make fun of others. Nothing to do with colour or race, just 'other'.

well that’ll be bad because we sort of were colonised by them and there are scars around the country. they sort of caused one of the biggest mass migrations on the world of 15 million people where 2 million people died due to them. the british killed people. we have forgiven but we won’t forget. if she shed light on the british it has to be on the evil they did because we can’t make the new generation forget of what our people experienced.
Pretty much what goes on these days.

Funny how this is what the BBC has actually become.
Why is in the title the word 'reversal'??? That would suggest that British people are the one who stereotyping Indians...and if Indians do to British, than it is a reversal stereotyping... ??? Indians do stereotyping British people...so there is not such thing 'reversal stereotyping.

I understand. The answer to your question is that I posted another sketch from the same episode of Goodness Gracious Me (simultaneous to posting this one) titled 'Ethnic Stereotyping' which was set in the UK and was a satire of ethnic stereotyping there. It would not have made sense to post both with the same title.
