Very helpful; I'm an SW student. And I've received therapy from a provider with poor boundaries so it’s nice to have identify and explain the dynamics and issues that arn’t just in someone’s head!

As a therapist, can we tell the client they our value conflict when I acknowledge it? How should I determine when to address this issue?

I went to professional counselor for support in a nightmare life situation I found myself in. She kept inviting us to church and Bible study that they were the pastors of. By the second appointment they were trying to get me to work for them for my business for the church. I communicated these things I was not comfortable with but they kept doing them anyways. The last straw was when they came to my house to pick up one of the orders they had made and gave us gifts Making me feel guilty for not appreciating the gift but finding it actually to be crossing boundaries. The whole situation was super Difficult for me. Your video helps me feel affirmed that what I’m feeling and experiencing is completely understandable because boundaries crossed.

Very interesting as someone who has received much therapy over time. Sadly, I felt compelled to leave my counsellor of longstanding after she was very judgemental. I let it run over many months but ultimately fled without telling her how there was no getting over that.

I assume these ethics apply to MFTs as well? The first slide list counselors and social workers.

Yes I would say so since many MFT and LCSW programs do teach ethics application in similar way and I can see how MFT would apply this in clinical setting too
