I love how they instinctively understand each other: the meeting in the parc in fallout where they basically communicate without speaking, their efficiency in fights together, etc. And that ending scene in fallout too, I love them

It's amazing how in a spy movie, they managed to make a well written heroine character, make her equals with the protagonist and somehow have great chemistry with the protagonist WITHOUT a single romantic scene in the movie. This is the type of female heroes we should see in movies. Not the movie constantly shoving in our face "how much girls are better than boys" BS.

I think there was plenty of romance, but the good part is that it was subtle and compelling without being sexual, which is a breath of fresh air. Most importantly, she's not a bland female lead like the femme fatales in most spy movies

I know right. Ever since rogue nation she's my ultimate crush of the entire MI series. The only Ethan equal that they both deserved each other for the happy end. Rebecca is the epitome of elegance and beauty. I love literally everything about her. She radiates similar vibe with emily blunt and cate blanchett, only those two a bit wittier.

Replaced a well established beloved spy character with a petty thief with big tits , if grace was a better character it might have actually worked

They always had a chemistry

And they killed her WHY JUST WHY . IT BROKE MY HEART 💔. What Ethan had with ilsa was magical, phenomenal . understanding each other without a single word protecting each other. They showed love without any physical intimacy which was beautiful. Hunt had many female counterparts but ILSA WAS ABOVE them all she was perfect in every way I can imagine a spy . Even they have tried very hard to make hailey Atwell the next lead but she's no match to ILSA and is even more irritating the way it's shown. LOVE YOU ILSA 💓 U would always my favourite

How could you not love Ilsa. Such a capable and trustworthy character.

When there is natural and real chemistry between two, even in acting roles, like these two so obviously do, there is a simmering intensity and mutual attraction that just cannot be denied. EIther that, or they are both excellent actors. Or it could well be both aspects at play. Beautiful to watch.

I watching this in tears and after all this the absolutely absurd demise and how it played out, of Ilsa is insulting. She kicks ass in Rogue Nation and Fallout only to fall to Gabriel….seriously WTF!! Their embrace at the end of Rogue Nation is so incredibly intense! 😢

At first I thought it was ridiculous, but then I realized the entity would have informed Gabriel about the fighting style of everyone he would come across, which explained why he was countering a lot of her grapple moves. Rebecca also had big projects already booked and Dead Reckoning's filming went on far longer than expected.

I really do hope she comes back alive somehow in 8…

Dang, my 58 year old father is ticked off that she was killed off. He came home mad the other day after seeing the movie. I have never seen him that invested in a movie. He seems to really like folk who are martial artists, since he is a Black Belt. I have been told she she was a bad MOFO, but I have only seen clips so I don't know for sure.

Ilsa was everyone's favourite

You have to wonder just how tempted Ethan was in this scene as Ilsa is 100% right in that there is always going to be bad guys and people to oppose them and that with their skills they could just disappear and start a whole new life free from the constant turmoil. Its something that he tried to do with Julia and it failed, only difference is he wouldn't have to worry as much as Ilsa knows the game as well as he does so he wouldn't need to protect her making it a very real and possible scenario. Also Ilsa wouldn't have suggested it if she herself didn't feel it could work meaning she views Ethan as a equal and her counter-point making the offer a genuine one.

She has been such a force behind Ethan Hunt's success. Tom and Macqquire gotta figure out a way to revive Ilsa back in Dead Reckoning 2!! She deserves a better closure!!

I watched Fallout months before I watched Rogue Nation. And I have to say, I finally get the chemistry between them. I’m so rooting for them in the next one. 🥰

Sometimes watching the movies in reverse order is nice, makes you appreciate the earlier movie even more! Although it makes the later movie more confusing to watch.

These idiots are something between pining for each other and being absolutely sure that the feeling is mutual but waiting for the other to make the first step because once they’re admit they’re in love the world will come for them and they have so much more to lose and I can’t handle it anymore ksjsjjaksk

Beautiful montage with a superb, surreal soundtrack choice! Bravo.... very touching... you made a grown man cried. How beautiful it would be to end your montage with the scene in Venice, on top of a building, when Ilsa is quietly cradled in Ethan's arms. And I too am beyond disappointed and disgruntled that she was dismissed so unceremoniously in MI7...

I think a lot of people didnt get this is the greatest love story in a spy movie ever. It's just not stereotypical: two lonely, emotionally repressed persons who are made for each other and desperately need love but cant have it, just because this man devoted to another woman who's nothing like him, who doesnt understand him, who fell in love with him while he was pretending to be a person he is not, who can give him nothing more than a memory. You have a woman named after one of the biggest love stories in movie history (Casablanca, the city is in the movie too), who runs alongside the hero in a saga made famous by his iconic solo runs (soulmate symbolism), with Nessun Dorma playing everytime she's around, and no one is noticing. We just deserve Bond and Vesper Lind.

With a great chemistry between Ethan Hunt & Elsa Faust,i really like to see a 'happily ever after' kind of ending to their relationship...but unfortunately this is not a Cinderella love story...this is a high-octane action thriller movie MI7 we talking about...so yeah...i have to admit that i also have a strong feeling something bad might happen to her in that movie...

There are a number of very detailed videos which take deep dives into the small details connecting the films. I did think for certain she was dead, but based on those videos which reference a prior faked death in MI:1, and the opening scene here, I have to believe she is alive.

So disappointed they killed off Ilsa in Dead Reckoning. Now there's Grace in her place, but nobody can match the chemistry between Ilsa and Ethan...
