He has been an innovator and seems smart. I once saw him in a movie where his character slugs a woman, and the acting was so good that I was still empathetic to his role as well as hers.

Totally cool dude. He's in the movie business for all the RIGHT reasons, not money and fame like most celebrities.

I'm on an Ethan Hawke interview bender. I don't tire listening to this wonderful artist speak about art and life. How wise and humble!

Sometimes I'm so entranced by Ethan Hawke when he speaks, I find I'm not even listening to him anymore. Ooops.

I first knew Ethan Hawke when I was in high school. I was a member of English Club and our teacher played the VHS of Before Sunrise in class and that was my first impression of him. 25 years passed and he's still my favourite.

A huge fan of Ethan Hawke. A true artist and a great man.

Artists are never this honest. This guy keeps it real AF.

He seems like the coolest guy you could know.

He is so fun to talk to. Deep but not dense and very funny. Great interview!

@@aliceinwonderland548 Deep is self-explanatory I hope. In spanish, being dense (denso), is being too intense and serious, to the extreme of overwhelming or boring others. For example, people who is always talking about their emotions, even in casual settings, is dense. I now realize that it may not translate very well!

Truly gifted actor and beautiful person, doesn't get the credit and recognition he thoroughly deserves. 100% artist, no bullshit. Respect.

Time well spent.

Has real intelligent charisma. No wonder he's such a great actor. He always sounds so full of thoughts about life, living ,the world and his art. A considered, articulate man who has found positive proportion in his life. A joy to listen to.

Such a fascinating guy. I can't get enough of his interviews and movies. He looks like a genuinely nice guy.

Yeah, music makes every scene, every event and how, what and why they are recalled into our brains, these scenes.

It’s good you have grown past yourself most people are in their own way. It’s a big part of why we divorce and not invest in other’s. You have shown so much growth and it’s good to see where you are today.

Great interview, one of my favorite actors.

Ethan Hawke, who crushed it in First Reformed, just offhandedly describes to a T one of the reasons why Inside Llewyn Davis was such a great film.

So many of the movies that touched my heart have been those Ethan Hawke's been in. The Before series, Waking Life, Dead Poet.. & the documentary where I bawled the most at was Seymour: An Introduction. Someone who's integrated so that he knows his values, which aligns with his thoughts & actions, so that he's at ease. & Ethan Hawke's existential moments in that documentary touched me too. His thoughtfulness & how down to earth he is. I wish I had a friend or mentor like Ethan Hawke ❤

Great actor. Interesting person. Camera guy, it's restaurant interview, not a feature film. Take it easy on the panning and zooming. I shouldn't get seasick watching a one on one interview.

The romantic girl in me really enjoyed the Before sunrise & After series. I also enjoy the amazing action & acting in Magnificent 7. So it goes on & on for me😉

What he says about non-famous musicians makes me think of the wonderful Coen Brothers film Inside Llewyn Davis, about a fictional folk musician who is extremely talented, human and completely obscure.

I've f***ked with Ethan Hawke since "Before Sunrise," but a lot of Black people know of him because of "Training Day." I never will forget, I worked with this cat that was the hoodest, stereotypical Mofo I had ever met. He starts talking about Brooklyn's Finest and referencing Ethan Hawke by name- I was like you wouldn't know s**t about Ethan Hawke if it wasn't for Training Day...

Poor job done on the editing. Sure wish Ethan wasn't cut off several times.

I love how Ethan doesn’t find it disrespectful to give his honest opinion and experience w his peers’ art. People are usually very weird and fearful to offend.

I hate to correct Ethan on anything, but for the sake of truth, it was Brit essayist Walter Pater who said, “All art aspires to the condition of music...,” not Mark Twain. He must’ve gotten his wires crossed.
