ETERNALLY SECURE--THE MOST ASSURING CHAPTER IN THE BIBLE
As we open our Bibles to John 10:22, Jesus is walking in the winter, Hanukkah time, on the great porch of Herod’s Temple. It is incredible to find times in the Gospels that we can relate to.
Jesus was Teaching
John 10 in December
First, it was cold, and because of the weather, Jesus stayed on the eastern side of the Temple (John 10:22-23). This is the same place where the early church continued to meet (Acts 3:11; 5:12).
Second, it was during the month of December. Look at v. 22. This is the Jewish Feast of Dedication, more commonly called Hanukkah. This year, Jews celebrate Hanukkah, or the Feast of Lights, from December 9 to 16, remembering the re-consecration of the Temple after the desecration of the Holy of Holies in 170 BC by the Greek General Antiochus Epiphanes.
Finally, it was here that Jesus used the most enduring and comprehensive name for believers. In John 10, the term “sheep” is used 16 times (out of 40 times in all the New Testament and 21 times in John).

Powerful Term for Believers
When you think about it Jesus comes as the Lamb, He calls His Church His flock, He calls Himself the True and Good Shepherd, and He calls those who lead His Church in His stead: shepherds (that is the meaning of the Greek word poimen), and it is usually translated, pastor.
There is only one designation of Christ that fills the New Testament. We are His sons and daughters, and His disciples and servants, but the most integrated term, into the fabric of the early church, as we are sheep, Christ is our Shepherd, and those who guard Christ's flock are shepherding, pastors.
Jesus calls us as believers more by one term in the Gospels “My Sheep” than any other term among those found outside the Gospels. My sheep is His description of us.

Crazy you say this because I’ve been telling myself this repeatedly over the last week.
I just wanted to thank you Pastor Barnett. It wasn't this video, but recent one I can't find where you spoke about the demonic spirits that one would be open to from any mind altering substances. I was born again just a year ago and have wanted to stop my nightly medical marijuana edible and knew what you preached was true. Somehow, hearing a pastor I respect say this was the exact motivation I needed to stop. I had prayed very earnestly to be able to quit just the day before. It's been rough for sure as I've been on it for 14 yrs but in my heart I KNOW I'm done with it. Please pray for me as I go thru the rough withdrawal phase. The worst is insomnia and some serious weakness which is concerning, but nothing will stop me with Jesus help. 🙏🏻🙏🏻❤

I'll pray for you as I'm going through the same thing, same substance. I'm too amped up & I can't wind down. I had to ween off, down to 10mg dose everyday, then every other day. I stopped 2 months, buy I felt nothing spiritually (I feel I grieved Holy Spirit & lost Him. Haven't had my peace mind in 15 yrs, I quit all other drugs even prescribed adderall & xanax. That I felt convicted) but I started again because of some sweet calamus scripture deceit & I can't quit as easy this time. I feel I lost my salvation cuz I grieved the Spirit, my daughter is into witchcraft & it's my fault. I don't deserve heaven if she's in hell.

alcohol would make me tempted to view pornography and I struggled often with that abhorrent sin for more than 20 years. In 2022 I prayed and begged for forgiveness and told God that if I could not kill that sin, then I would rather Him kill ME so that I would not continue offending Him and grieving the Holy Spirit. Less than 6 months later I was diagnosed with terminal cancer. I believe this is divine chastisement. It grieves me to remember that awful sin. How I offended my Lord who died for me grieves me. My beautiful wife and my family are having to watch me whither away and suffer so my sin has impacted them too. Men, PLEASE stay sober. PLEASE avoid pornography. When we look at pornography, we are leaving our Father's palace and choosing to go roll around in a nasty pig pen. We are perverting the intimacy God gave us to enjoy with our wives. I'm only 55 years old. I believe the Lord answered my prayer in 2022 by allowing the cancer to happen.

Take papaya for your stomach & melatonin for sleep. There is also the flower extract that's for anxiety, think it's called Anne's relax remedy, lil bottle you put drops under your tongue. Works great for rest

@paulzavada1256 Thanks for your prayers. I know how you feel. I'd tried many times before to get off unsuccessfully. This time the conviction is so strong. Keep praying to be strongly convicted. You don't lose your salvation. I know some think so, I'm pretty sure Pastor Barnett does not think so, nor does Robert Breaker. Otherwise Jesus died in vain on the cross. Prayers for you too. 🙏🏻

I prayed for someone very dear to me, to find Christ; and although she had been hurt by The Church; and full of justifiable, animos for it; a week later, she started praying to Christ. Never give up.

I never was the first to get picked on a team but i wasn't last...sometimes i was. This bothered me all my life. Just joking...
To give us eternal life, Almighty God, and Jesus Christ must have an indestructible fabric at their disposal. It will require different laws to mainstream laws or mainstream science otherwise the mainstream could sell us everlasting life...as it is it is a free gift as long as we promise not to harm angels when Heaven and Earth merge within the same space-dimension. That isn't so far off and so it is wise to have a long history of not harming others...else how could our Deity ever trust us. Prayers, worship, and supplication to the Commandments of Almighty God gives access to His Living Waters...in an electric/emotional/nervous/spiritual, sort of way. It's called righteousness.

I've come to the conclusion that vast majority of pastors know the truth but deliberately choose error because of their carnal lust. Such beautiful message if preached about the lamb. Christ our passover sacrificed for us. Yet they can't see typology of a Christian Nation ( Christian Nationalism) professing to know Christ speak as a dragon. How will they speak as a dragon? By enactment of their version of 10 Commandments where Sunday is the Sabbath! When it spreads worldwide for all to obey. Then will physical persecution arise against a Remnant of Christianity that keep the Commandments of God ( Saturday) having the testimony of Jesus Christ; Rev 19:2, Historicism truth that the Papacy is Antichrist.

@@davidmcpott1924 Roger Williams (1603 - 1683) Pastor Williams spoke of the Pope as “the pretended Vicar of Christ on earth, who sits as God over the Temple of God, exalting himself not only above all that is called God, but over the souls and consciences of all his vassals, yea over the Spirit of Christ, over the Holy Spirit, yea, and God himself…speaking against the God of heaven, thinking to change times and laws; but he is the son of perdition.” (The Prophetic Faith of Our Fathers by Froom, Vol. 3, pg. 52) If your an American, it's in your constitution who the anti-christ is; there it is. Just as Jeff Landry claim 10 Commandments is in the constitution signing 10 Commandments to be placed in public schools in Louisiana. See hypocrisy! Say 10 Commandments is in the constitution, but don't know Pope is Antichrist is also in constitution. Great great hypocrisy Rev 13:11,12, Apostate Protestant America; profess knowing Christ but will speak as a dragon.
Good teacher but wrong on this one. The parables about the "Sheep" are about the nation of Israel. Acts 9 is the transitional chapter of Acts. Paul's early teachings were to "None but Jews only". Peter, John, James, etc were apostles of the circumcision & Paul to the "uncircumcision" (Acts 15). Peter went to the house of Cornelious for this purpose of backing up Paul. This was the only time Peter (the 12) went to the Gentiles.on God's command to do so. Jesus: "Go only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel"
Once saved always saved, the biggest lie to ever enter Christianity.
