Etan Does LA 94: Victorian Homes on 1300 Carroll Block (Angelino Heights) | Los Angeles history
Let's take a look-see at the 1300 block of Carroll Ave. in Angelino Heights, which has the highest concentration of Victorian homes in all of Los Angeles. They're each independently considered LA Historic Cultural Monuments, and the whole block is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Reminds me of the neighborhood from Drag Me to Hell.
That architecture looks out of place in LA. You associate it more with New England or other areas of the country. Those houses look like movie sets, not real homes for real people. The palm trees are jarring.

They are perfect for LA style. It is the style LA had when it was being expanded along with craftsman. New England is older and has Cape Cod and colonial style homes.
