I like how he shows the damage and aftermath of launches. Most channels just show a launch and there isn’t any follow up. I think people appreciate this aspect of your channel. Keep up the good work!!!

@@modelrockets3215 I got an original shuttle kit in a lot purchase I made. The Mars lander in the lot was complete and in good shape, however, the space shuttle was missing some parts (the main engine pod seems to have been built, but not included). The plastic that makes up the shuttle is fragile for sure, but it is all there.

I really liked this video. I have that very kit but haven't flown it in years, the orbiter sustaining heavy damage on its last mission. It is the second Estes shuttle stack kit I have built. The first one flew in the late 80's on a single mission. From a large school field the stack lifted off perfectly, the orbiter detached and glided better than I expected. Unfortunately, it glided too well, over the the school fence where it landed on the road and was promptly run over by a passing pickup truck. Ahh well, spaceflight is not for the faint of heart. Great channel.

Ahhh sorry about that Orbiter. Sound like you had it dialed in. Well Estes is re issuing an RTF version. Grab one and launch in.

Great launch! Cool model! Had it as a kid. Lots of great flights. Unfortunately, the styrene shuttle didn't hold up well over the years. Still have the tank and boosters..... somewhere! Like your videos. 👍

Nice second flight, except for the recovery part. Like you said its part of the hobby. I've got one,the main body tube was in little bit of a oval, so I put the nose cone & one of the centering rings in the aft end of body tube to bring it back to round. Thats been a few weeks ,its getting there. Yea its a cool kit. I wish they would repop it or make it a little bigger.

Your content is perfect for the bunch of us that can't build "N" class motors or 9 ft body tubes on a regular basis.. You are showing the state how cool and affordable the hobby can be! .... And don't worry, they say "If the field isn't littered with debris, your not learning anything!".. God bless and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

As a young rocketeer, I followed the unwritten code of never building the same model as any of my friends or neighbors. Because of this I never bought this Space Shuttle and of course regret it. I'm consoled slightly by the memory of my 8th grade substitute English teacher who, when he learned of my affinity for model rockets, pulled me out of math class so we could watch the launch of the Space Shuttle Columbia in 1981, I felt like king for a day. Great video and I'll be looking forward to your future shuttle launches.

That shuttle model is an excellent one. Had great ascents on launch, too bad the second one had a failure. I learned the hard way as a kid to preflight my gliders and trim them before launching them several hundred feet into the sky.

@@modelrockets3215 I finally got to launch Friday after 45 years. 1st time I ever used wadding and I “SWAG”’d qty of sheets for the Alpha and older “Scorpion”. Same size tubing. Decided to cut back 1 sheet on 🦂 and singed the chute but deployed enough to have 2 successful launches. Kids loved it. Sadly lost the “ Mosquito” (typical) and promised kids if they find it or even see it take off they can have it. 😉. Got sidetracked, but still like using batton or cellulose insulation instead. It never failed me and cheaper. Now I need a new chute. (May go to $ store for flame retardant crepe and streamer the Scorpion. ¯\(ツ)/¯ Awesome launches. Wanted the Centuri version as a kid but never had time or $$ b4 leaving for boot camp “Phoenix may have a problem,”. Yet MR 321 will rebuild and get things back on track. Thanks for vids Keith. Happy July Fourth 🎉 to you and all ur viewers
