No that’s what you call someone who can’t sing. Because artists like Brandy, Ariana Grande, Beyoncè, Mariah Carey do all the vocals even the background. The only time background vocals are left on is because you can sing the notes or your to busy. Other time background vocals are left on to create a certain sound which this song does not require.

Its not that she sang it to match Rihanna's voice. This is the original version, and they used so much of Ester's vocals from this demo on Rihanna's final version. The most famous part of the song "oh na na" if you compare it to this one you will see its the exact same, its Esther's voice on the final track. The chorus is a blend of RiRi & Esther. People think Rihanna can't sing live, she can sing very well, its just impossible to match a voice that isn't yours the track to begin with!

@DANIEL DÍAZ Rhianna can sing better than an average person but there are some key issues. Her range is not that amazing. She has poor breath control when attempting to dance and she parties hard or otherwise isin't perpared sometimes and this affects her performance. Thats my thoughts about it. But I have heard her sing live and it sound good before but she also has given alot of crappy performances.

No the Record Producer composed the Music and hired a Top-Liner to topline the beat which makes it a Song demo. Then the song is shopped around and who ever picks it, they hire the Producer to cut the vocals with the Artist in the studio. Bryan Michael Cox does that all the time as he will compose a beat, send the beat to Sean Garrett to topline, send the sessions back to him and then B. Cox would shop the demo around and then he cuts the vocals. Not all Recording Artist's are Songnwriters or necessary write every song they record. Chris Brown performed Run It as he wasn't a Songwriter on that song as Scott Storch composed the Music and Sean Garrett Top-lined it and song the demo for Chris Brown.

@@olavihekandjo2928 okay but in general Rihanna tend to copy the style of her songwriters. Such as Diamonds written by Sia she pretty much copied Sia's singing style in the studio recording. If you listen to Sia's demo and Rihanna's version they sound very similar and Sia in an interview even said that when she heard Rihanna's version, she was surprised at how similar it sounded to her original demo.
