@@desertrose1226 interestingly enough, I like Bea Arthur's hairstyle during the early years of the series, also my favorite episodes, with a strong "80s feel"- the 1st-3rd seasons, 1985-spring of 1988. When the 4th season premiered in the fall of 1988, and the beginning of Dorothy's new hairstyles from then on out, it seemed like the show changed, I guess by then it was becoming more "90s". I think my very least favorite hairstyle of hers was the one towards the end of the series, in late 91-92.

Great heartfelt speech. There have been lots of rumors about egos among the cast. From what I’ve read, Bea and Estelle got along very well because they both came from the Broadway stage. Theater actors have been known to think a little less of tv actors because they don’t have to face a new audience every night, without a chance for retakes, or going up on their lines.

@BeaverCreek90210

I was surprised to find she'd only won 1 Emmy. She definitely deserved a few more!

Yeah. Nominated for four I think but the one win. I'm sure it was enough for her. She strikes me as as a gracious and grateful lady. She really did have a happy life overall. Estelle Getty lives on forever in our hearts as Sophia Petrillo, this win was well deserved, and she was in good company. So sad that dementia took this beautiful soul in 2008, what a loss.
Her speech.. was the best! 💜 beginning with “picture it” what a lovely gal!
