My dad use to tune his accordion notes when he would come play close to the border. I’m from Brownsville. I grew up listening to Esteban Jordan . Till this day we jam out to his music ✌🏻 He’s too damn original, just plain art in his craft. My dad is not a fan of anyone being that he’s a master himself in the accordion but he was beyond amazed how Esteban would play and rearrange his sound with new technology. And also the image he had... with the native American rings, the way he posed, even the eyepatch with the long hair looked cool! My father knew, this guy was a true musician and that there will never be anyone like him ever again! Que Viva El Chicano más trucha del acordeón “Esteban Jordan”!

One of the unsung hero’s of Chicano music!!! Hearing stories from family who toured with him really gets me overwhelmed with joy... how musicians that were headlining disliked home because all the fans came to see him and would leave after he opened... he even jammed out at a bar In Nixon Texas!!
