A quilt from the 1930's is an amazing piece of handmade art & history! A piece of that era will be made of cotton and should take dye well. Go wild! It's a treasure!

I'm so happy to own it. I'm also nervous that every other person is saying to not dye it, I just wanted a light tan neutral color and to cover up some of the stains lol but I also don't wanna ruin a piece of history either. Maybe I can make my own and just set that one to the side

I know right!???! I am just a natural ✨️ I think its because I shop everywhere else all the time I'm like a professional shopper at this point lol 😆 I know what to say to get a discount and the times to go somewhere. I can go into any store and find a deal it's like the weirdest thing and alot of people want to go shop with me bc I attract the deals LOL 😆

Hi David you got some great finds. I really like the glass bowl and think it would be great as a terrarium. I have washed wool sweaters in the washer, cold water, gentle or hand wash cycle and then laid out and air dried.

I think it may do okay in the wash I'm just really nervous bc one time I did that with a wool blanket and ruined it lol

That's probably my favorite find! Such a great price on an old crock vase, and thank you I found the bunnies at Tuesday Morning but that store is set to close now!!! So sad 😞

Fabric glue might work well to fix up that quilt as you wouldn't risk adding holes with a needle. Also you could even use fabric paint to change just the flower color/keep the pattern.

Even though I have plenty of old things of my own and certainly don't need to buy more, I always enjoy your videos. As I've commented before, I really like and appreciate your taste. I can remember when wool blankets were common my mom used to wash them in gold water. I honestly don't remember if she used the dryer, but it's possible she used the cold setting.

Thank youuu. I definitely love collecting this stuff, it's just so fun to me and it feels like I'm holding a piece of history. I have never heard of gold water lol so I guess I will have search this! I washed a wool blanket once and it destroyed the texture and fibers cause I had no idea. So I'm like afraid to do anything with that one. I think I need to sell that lol

David, you can get a product called Dryell(?) in the laundry section of any grocery/Walmart store so you can clean those blankets. That quilt is.90 year's old, DO NOT dye it. Spot clean it with oxyclean if that doesn't work try a bleach pen. As for the flowers sew them first then use fabric paint pens to change or brighten them. Follow the directions ( iron to set the paint) Then you can wash it on cold, a more gentle cycle.

I absolutely agree. I also thought he could dampen the quilt, put real lemon juice on the spots and lay it in the sun for a few hours!

I can look into this, I was thinking of dying it all solid tan color which would blend in the weird yellow brown spots on it but I'm also like not wanting to ruin it either so I may just leave it alone and not use it at all

Me again! I think I’m being a pain in the butt, BUT you might be able to brighten the quilt by dampening it, hitting the spots with real lemon juice, and laying it in the sun for a few hours!
