I remember watching a documentary over a decade ago about how military personnel are supposed to deal with members of the public in places like Iraq and Afghanistan. One of the things they were told to do is remove sunglasses when talking to people. Being able to look someone in the eye establishes human contact. By refusing to remove his glasses the police officer in this video is not only breaching his departments internal protocol, he is treating you as less than human.

Inside our jails the lads are penalised for wanting to better themselves, it’s heartbreaking but true. In my opinion what’s needed is the opposite approach, prisons should be fined for the reoffending rate, incentivise the organisation to help these people turn it around. A lot of them want to turn it around, end the cycle, and just aren’t afforded that luxury. (I am not saying all, before anyone pipes up)

I've been doing some FOI's about this following a complaint. The response to the complaint was they have an arrangement with local authorities IF they are on operational duty. So FOIs all around for the details of the arrangement. Also to the police, what is operational duty? The Met at least have no such policy. Which to me means they are breaking the law. Period. There was an interesting audit of the Peckham police station by koleenberks. 14 Sep 2020 if you want to search for it. Lots of illegal parking. WPC says they park outside because the car park is full. Later she says she is worried about private cars being filmed. So let's see, they are parking police cars illegally so the police can get free parking? The other one, its in meeting house lane, in Peckham. Have a look at it on google maps, and put on the satellite image. Not many occupying parking spaces.

Maybe constable 'light sensitive' who fails to display any form of ID or number, should go for a full police medical regarding his further employment, if he cannot, due to it being daylight, carry out a conversation with a member of the public, he refuses to remove his sunglasses unless you do, and refuses to follow police guidelines because of an alleged eye problem? Even after you where advised your not detained your free to go, then when you walked away, he came after you, copsplaining and throwing terrorism act into the mix, it would appear you upset him by answering him back.

Pity AB didn't ask him about his number to compare with 5 digit numbers of the other two. His face was covered with both glasses and a mask. I guess, he didn't want to be identified, hence his reluctance to remove his specs. I presume, he was some sort of slightly irregular other kind of law enforcer of the area.
