Allen keys and every basic item, grease, idustrial amount of wipes, bearing press cups, and also a good massive wrench cuz when you undo a dub crankset and you are not a body builder, little allens won’t work well
My favorite mountain bike specific tool is a good quality cable/housing cutter. Can’t stand when a shifter cable frays and housing gets squished from cheap cutters.

Low-key, a great tool that saves lots of headaches.
Dude - that wrist break is gnarly! Hope you heal up quick!

Thanks, Josh!!
Torque wrench for those expensive carbon frames!
I prefer to do my own work whenever possible, so I've been adding more tools lately, and just got a Feedback Sports Elite workstand. BTW sorry about the injury!!! I hope you heal quickly.

Agreed
Good job the Cush core tyre levers are lifetime warranty they snap more than any other lever I have ever known in my experience of fitting inserts. They sit on the shop floor now, I used to really like the park ones but pedros are my favourite and seem sturdier.
Just became a mechanic at my local shop. Lots more to learn than I expected!

Lots to learn, but it's a fun process!
Bro just for saying, park tool costs arms and legs, 3rd market options are better, I recommend SuperB tools
Get better kiddo. Did a couple trips to the ER last year myself; so, I am cooling it now...LOL
TOR!
Wow, I didn't know I was part of the 1% that didn't have air suspension lol
A video I wish I’d watched when I first started MTB’ing. 👍
This may be a sponsored video, but I've found the shadow conspiracy chain tool to be far superior to the park version. It will work on the toughest chains at a similar cost. Second place would be the odyssey chain tool.

No sponsors in this video, we just really like Park Tool as their stuff covers all the bases and just works well. I'll have to look into the Shadow and Odyssey chain breakers. I haven't ridden my BMX bike more than a trip to the taco trick in years so I haven't looked at those brands in a while 😂 -Mike
TORQUE WRENCH!!!!! I know people think it's expensive for a beginner tool but if you are only starting to work on your bike you wont yet have a "feel" for torque, save yourselve having to buy a much more expensive extractor and tap. buy a torque wrench

Na, just turn the Allen key around. You can only just get 6nm by reefing it up with 1 thumb. People just have to learn what 5nm feels like. Use a friend or shops torque wrench to tighten 20+ random cap screws. Then practice tightening them so you just see the cap screw rotating. You will learn the feel in 10 minutes or less
If someone needs to watch this video and finds it useful (a new-ish, less experienced rider), then they should ignore the section with the spoke key. Unless you have experience with wheels, you are 99% more likely to mess up your wheel, than to fix it by trying to tension the spokes. Speaking from 20 years experience working in bike industry... I would remove that from this video and add a torque wrench, most people over torque their bolts and that could be an expensive or dangerous mistake or both

If you actually downhill ride, check for floppy spokes. They will snap if loose, just nipping them up will save your rims from collapsing. For a sub $10 tool, just buy one

Absolutely, 100% agree, in the wrong hands, a spoke wrench is a bad idea, can more easily fvck up a wheel than fix it.
Pedal wrench or else you will have on those cheap nylon beginner pedals forever!
@TheLostCo
Жыл бұрын
True that! Some of those cheap pedals don't have an allen key hole in the back of them so you'll need that pedal wrench. - Tor
So you have more confidence on your bike when you are breaking your wrist?😂Sorry I had to say it. But seriously heal up fast!!
