Marta, your garden was beautiful last year. It was so full and lush. But I like seeing it in springtime. It gives me a clearer picture of how it’s all laid out. It will be nice to see it evolve throughout spring into summer and fall. You do have the most gorgeous garden that I’ve ever seen. Everything is coming up so beautifully. Mine not so much yet. We are having temperatures near freezing but it’s warming up after tomorrow’s storms. Loved your video. Happy Spring 🌺🪻🌸

Love your garden!! I too removed all the landscape fabric from my gardens. It’s a terrible product that inhibits good plant growth while allowing weeds to grow through it.

Your hellebore border is beautiful, Martha! I’m planting some in my garden for the first time - got about seven of them to start me off. They’re all waiting to go in the ground, but we’ve had so much rain that it just hasn’t been possible.

Hi Marta…I absolutely love your gardens!! ❤ Love how meticulous you are with the edging too! Can’t wait to try it out in my gardens as well. 👏🏼 With using compost to mulch your beds, do you find that the weeds love it and grow in it more than when using shredded hardwood mulch? Really love the way it looks and how your plants pop against the dark color…I’m just trying to decide what is better for my garden beds as I don’t want to have to pull weeds constantly. Please let me know. Thanks! P.S. Could we please get an update soon on how your plants are doing in your new front border which you started last November? 😊

I absolutely do not put any chemical fertilizer on my lawn since we have a well and we certainly don't want to drink toxic water. So, we leave the dandelion and whatever else comes up, in the lawn for the birds and bees to enjoy.

Hi Marta, love your videos. I am a beginner Gardner in Southern California and would love to have flowers all year long. How do you plant different flowers in the same planter / border to have flowers throughout every season? Do you remove the previous flowering plant or do you cut it down to the ground and plant the next season's flowers over it? Please share, I would very much appreciate it. Than k you! 💜🙏😎

Marta, pine needles not make an acidic compost. ;) "Many people avoid using pine needles in compost because they think it will make the compost more acidic. Even though pine needles have a pH between 3.2 and 3.8 when they fall from the tree, they have a nearly neutral pH after composting."

What did you use to fertilize your lawn? What is compost made of? It looks like dirt so how will that smother out the weeds? I see several unanswered questions in your comments? Why do you not want to answer there questions when you ask them if they have questions to put them in the comments? Please answer

Yea, landscape fabric is the worst invention ever. So un-organic, un-horticultural, and environmentally unfriendly. The worst idea ever. I wish the big box stores would stop brainwashing inexperienced gardeners into thinking they need to continue this horrible practice. It doesn’t even do what it’s supposed to do…keep out weeds. The weeds still grow on top of the mulch and then the roots get entangled in the fabric and are impossible to pull. Glad to hear you’ve removed all your fabric and have gone with compost…the true essence of gardening!❤
