A good tip for me is look at second hand i picked up a decent trakker bivvy and a decent bed chair at almost half price . There are some tackle tarts who upgrade for fun . Im poor so always on the look for a bargain . Clothing and sleep gear im ok with because my other hobby is camping .

It might seem like a silly question but could you do like an idiots guide to different rigs, at the minute I have just learned how to tie my own hair rigs but I hear so much about helicopter rigs and chod rigs etc, and it’s all just a blur to me

Hi mate, just about to do my first overnight carp fishing session, what bait would u recommend and would u say its worth getting a sleeping bag for extra covering or would I be fine with a few blankets? Thanks

Hi Cory, thanks for the comment. If the lake doesn't have any nuisance fish (bream, roach etc) then corn is always a good one. Boilies are a must for me and would recommend a reputable brand like DNA baits, Sticky etc but there are loads to choose from. Personally I prefer blankets but in this weather it's worth taking both, a 4/5 season bag is a must for me though in winter but I always have a blanket too. I hope this helps (we could talk for ages on these subjects) but will be releasing a 5 tips to stay comfortable carp fishing in winter shortly so be sure to subscribe so you don't miss it.

@@corygee9962 be warm Always, extra dry socks, gloves. But use a couple different sized/flavored boilies and definitely on a hair rig, at least. Been successful with birdseed as chum or corn. But definitely use a bait feeder setup rig and put an oatmeal, jello type porridge in it. You’ll crush

Hi James, I tend to make my own these days now but If I needed some good ones I trusted then I would be going to a company called FishEasy, a small independent who does them at a good price but importantly are spot on quality wise. Otherwise Angling Direct or your local tackle shop will have a wide variety to choose from. Hope this helps and don't forget to subscribe I have a few more bits coming up shortly!
