Yeah that one is something I have been meaning to make for a while. When I volunteer at my astro club that's about the most common question that I get!

I've watched this video about three times Vlad. I bought the 2" Baader neodymium and you are right, for most of my visual that filter is in my diagonal. Looking at M42 it's a must for the Nebula. I use the polarizing filter for the Moon and a single unscrewed polarized filter for when Venus is a little too bright. Great video and boy do I need one of those chairs.

Spot on for an 79 year old rank amateur! Thank you. I'm glad I discovered this video. New house? 20 years visual, but I have always put off a polarizing filter. You got me there! I'm convinced! Yes, I have dew shields, an adjustable chair, big power supply and 2" diagonal. (which drew me into 2" EP$.) What I appreciated is your recommendation of the Baader Moon and Skyglow filter. I've watched your newer video on filters, and you are big on this filter. I need to add it to my arsenal. Zoom EPs seem like a good idea. But I've found the 1.25 by Orion to be very stiff to turn, even in warm weather. Any thoughts? Not ready for the 2" zoom you're holding. As always, you've added to my experience. Best regards! 🎉

Glad the video was helpful! The zooms can get still in the cold. Some are worse than others. I don't really know of any way to cure this besides getting a better unit.

Bino scope?? I didn't even know that was a thing, but that sounds awesome! lol

Depending on the scope, the diaganol may be required to get the focal distance, so putting an eyepiece directly into the scope may not work.

Very true. Any SCT should reach focus. With a refractor you would likely need an extension tube.

Great video. I ordered a Tele-Vue 85 like in this video, which should arrive tomorrow. Saw your review on it and I have similar situation I had one like 20 years ago and sold it but remember it being amazing. Hoping for me it lives up to my expectations and memory 🤞.

Hope you enjoy it! It's an awesome scope still. I think I'm just a bit too spoiled by the current crop of triplets that I own.

Hey Vlad - Catching up on your older videos - GREAT JOB on this one! Ever thought about doing a beginning astrphotography video on how to do basic stuff with alt/az? Maybe go over all the things that are possible, but then obviously direct people towards EQ for serious AP.... Just a thought, theres a lot of us out here who went alt/az as we were starting out....

Hi Vlad - been clso catching upon your videos and enjoying that. Q.What star diagonals would you recommend for refractors 80-120 in f5 -f7 range?

Glad to hear you like them. You know over the years I have tried many different brand diagonals and from my experience if you get a decent dielectric diagonal there really is not too much diffrance on what brand you go with.

hey Vlad. Any thought on a nexstar 4SE?. I'm buying one for my 10 year old as the next step up from our binocular stargazing. The 6SE is a little pricey for a first scope. neither if us are experts and really want to look at planets mainly. Thanks. love the videos.

I have actually owned a 4se about a decade ago! If your primary interest is the planets there is not too much more that the 6SE will give you over the 4SE on the average night of seeing. If the 4SE is more in your budget I would say go for it! The Mak optics that it uses are VERY sharp. amzn.to/3lKkIBR

Yup its got a few mods. I actually picked it up from a local club member with most of the mods already done(spreader/knobs/saddle) but I did do the arm reinforcement with a piece of plywood myself! Its my lightest weight grab-and-go mount and I love it. Have owned it for 2-3 years already.

@@AVTAstro Unfortunately its my heaviest mount that I have. You can't find any tripod/mounts being sold now. I am quite impressed with the design of it. Seems every bolt can be removed and everything about it can be reconfigured including the position of the tightening screws. Impressive mount

Lol, I think one day I'll need to make a KZread video explaining how you don't need to be "filthy rich" to afford less than $10,000 of Astro gear🤣🤣🤣👍If owning Astro gear that coasts less than an RV or a Harley makes you filthy rich I guess there are a lot of filthy rich folks out there👍

@@AVTAstro I'm being a little hyperbolic, but come on no need to defend having some cash to burn on sick telescopes. Shit, flex that astrowallet. I would definitely like to see a video on how to have owned 100+ telescopes, eyepieces etc while keeping a significant other. No matter how much money you have. And I am honestly really interested in how you found a 7" APO and a binocular 16" dob for less than 10,000. Because I'm saving for the wrong gear.
