The Bears and Colts are two teams that weren’t terrible last year that I expect will be better this year with new QBs. I wouldn’t be surprised if both of those teams made the playoffs this year.

Andrew Luck's rookie year is what I expect from Caleb(minus a few hundred yards but still cracking 4k). It's the best comparison to make from the context of QB's who in college were seen as generational talents having success their first year in the league. A lot of people didn't see Stroud coming so it's not quite like Caleb but Luck's situation was very similar to Caleb in terms of the hype. Why does no one ever mention Luck's rookie year when thinking about Caleb's expectations?

First how is the O line going to shake out. Once all the starters are set they have to gel. Not sure of players at left tackle, center, and right guard. With all the extreme amount of talk about getting an edge rusher well almost all teams could use a good one. Our D line is in much better shape competitively than the O line. I don’t think more than 2-3 guys who start this year on the O line will do the same in 2025. Face it we need better players not career backups like Bates and Shelton. I’ll be pleasantly surprised if these new additions do great but I doubt it. Williams may be pressured more than he ever has.

@@HenryRuss-yq7hf Yes you are definitely correct about that. If he see's the type of pressure in the NFL that he he did his last year in college, he will get killed. But I don't think he'll ever again see the amount of pressure he saw his last year in college. I think we have a scrappy bunch upfront on O... we certainly won't be able to overcome a large number of injuries tho. We'll see... this year is going to tell us sooo much. I like how Poles has set the roster up.

@@tomtsu5923 can’t help but be a realist. I’m hoping Bates and or Shelton work out at center. Braxton Jones is still a project statistics be damned he couldn’t block the top ends. Gates ate his lunch. Jenkins is great when healthy. Center??? Nate Davis the right guard perrenial no show at practice. His act is getting old. Will he perform? At Right tackle we drafted our best o lineman Darnell Wright. Lotsa questions and not much depth. Of the guys I just listed on a playoff ready team only Jenkins and Darnell Wright are starters. The rest, Jones, Bates, and Coleman are all journeyman backups.

Btw I gotta say I think it’s really interesting how after more than 50 career starts, we still have people saying that maybe Sam Darnold can be a good starting QB, but Trey Lance gets labeled a bust after only 4 starts. I’ve never heard Julian talk about Trey Lance so I don’t know what his opinion is, I just think it’s interesting how some QBs get so much benefit of the doubt while others it seems everyone is rushing to label a bust.

  • @JWLSports

That’s because Trey Lance failed with a great team like the 49ers and Shanahan. Where as Sam Darnold was with the Jets and the Panthers. And when a great coach like Shanahan moves on from you, it’s pretty much a death sentence.

This is what an NFL rookie can look forward to: Chronic Pain: Many retired NFL players experience chronic pain due to injuries sustained during their careers. Osteoarthritis: This is common, especially in the lower limbs, due to the high-impact nature of the sport. Brain Injuries: Concussions and repeated head trauma can lead to chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a degenerative brain disease. Mental Health Issues: Depression and anxiety are prevalent among former players, often exacerbated by chronic pain and the transition to life after football. Career Length: The average NFL career is relatively short, lasting about 3.3 years4. This is due to the physical demands and high risk of injury associated with the sport4. Long-term Impact: The long-term health impacts can be significant. Brain injuries, in particular, can shorten life expectancy and lead to severe cognitive and emotional issues3. Additionally, the transition to life after football can be challenging, with many players struggling to find a new purpose and manage their health issues #nfl #sports #football #cruelty #inhumanity #stupidity #exploitation
