Ive looked at that game briefly. Not too bad looking. One of the great things of the console wars was exclusive sports titles which meant more games rather than just the same game on all consoles.

It fascinating that Konami's entire sports game catalog from that era is entirely forgotten and untouched as far as KZread goes. Glad to run into something like this.

It sure is. Although, I think winning eleven was also done by Konami, at least published, and those games are the gold standard for soccer.

nope, NBA Inside Drive 2004 on XBOX Classic was the BEST NBA Game that no one remembers.

I've seen that one and it doesn't really do anything for me. It's unfortunate the Microsoft games didn't last very long though

I liked Inside Drive 2003 way better. Live 2004 was better than ID 2004.

I've never played this game before, but now seeing this , it makes me want to go buy a PS2 again and get this game. I would love to see if they have an updated roster version (probably not but would be cool if they do)

I doubt they have anything for this game. It was forgotten. You could always get it for PCSX2, the emulator and get that HD resolution.

i remember playing the nba live games on mega drive and this game look like those but in its maximum transformation looks great for retro gamers or players who like a more arcade game

It's for sure a basketball sim but it doesn't inundate you with stuff. There are no chores which is great.

I love franchise mode or general manager modes. I might have to try this out

I played it recently on the channel. Trades are challenging. They are not a candy store

Pretty much in line with the good quality of Konamis football (soccer) games of that time (ISS Pro Evolution Soccer / Winning Eleven). The great picture of playing a season makes it great. Did this game feature player development and deep tactics as well? Will definetly give it a shot on an emulator these days. Awesome video, thanks.

I was reminded of winning eleven. Players did get better over time and worse with age. I dont know much about basketball strategy but it has the basic offense/defense switch mid game.

I had this game, I could spam the hook shot and never missed.

I think I played it on a harder difficulty, I could barely make the layups.

Since I have a PS2 Emulator on my gaming PC, I just might have to get my hands on this game and try it out!

The ai is a little rough but still a great and fun game to play in coach mode

It’s crazy cuz I had all the games when I was a kid even the ones nobody heard of cuz my dads friend gave me his Xbox n his crazy collection. It must’ve been over 150 games in that box

I played the hell out of NBA 2K5. Not because I had any clue but I think I already had NFL 2K5 and got NBA because NFL was good.

Did we talk about the same game here? I do have the Japanese Xbox Version of it and It looked ulgy and played very bad even for a Dreamcast game. The early PS1 wants their game back.

@@GridironMasters yeah, I'm controlling them and remapped the defense controls slightly so that the right trigger is for guarding and the left stick pressed down is turbo. This helps defending an opponent one on one easier.

That's probably many people's story. In 2001 I didn't have a console so my friends PS1 and my father's PC were it . We were playing twisted metal, need for speed and sim copter.

I thoroughly enjoyed playing franchise. It was on the simpler side but it had some character and charm.

This game was pretty bad, I remember when I bought it from 2n hand in 2003/2004 because I was totally addicted to a friend's NBA live 2004, and bruh, what a shit I found haha, but was fun, has the cheat codes with big heads, different balls, etc, that was nasty

The last 2k nba I played was 2k5. Its definitely not the same 2k from 20 years ago. They are long gone.

@@criticalthinker8013 Yeah, if you are fed up with the horrible state of modern sports gaming, just start going backwards. You'll have tons of fun with the best games of all time and the nostalgia. You'll find some duds but they have their value too.

Disagree. NBA Courtside series was better. Arguably Inside Drive too but I didn't have Xbox so I don't know.

I played those and they didn't hold my attention. UI is usually a big deal for me and this one has a great UI. It also had character traits which, to me, made players stand apart from each other. The stick skills side of the game isn't great, though, it's actually kind of hard and I wasn't playing on the hardest. In "coach mode" this game is great.

@@GridironMasters no but the first one was espn nba 2 night i think it was based on the 2000 2001 season it was a absolute trainwreck in every way honestly the worst basketball game i ever played the ps2 version you have here was bounds better but not as good as nba 2k2 on features and depth but was a decent time
