Anybody watching Pat long enough knows he was dying to get on ESPN for a long time as an NFL play caller and he was denied becasue of politics so to be able to rise above it and become more successful and then be able to join ESPN on HIS own terms must feel really nice to him.

@vgkdean He had to run the show out of that $120mil. Any guests/co hosts that were paid were paid out of that $120mil. ESPN takes care of all the expenses now, plus he gets to call games and have conversations he never would have been able to. I completely understand what signing with Disney means for him/the show but it makes more sense when you look at it from a business owners pov. It all depends on what the business owner (Pat) wants out of it

McAfee took the deal because he got a fat paycheck, the stability of being tied to an institution, and he respects/respected ESPN. The confusion is that saying ESPN is the big league implies that Pat needs ESPN and not vice versa. McAfee grew up watching ESPN, they are owned by Disney, they are the biggest fish in the pond. Patrick was wrong about this. ESPN is still the Big Leagues. If it wasn’t Pat wouldn’t have signed with them. His viewership increased by being on ESPN. Lot of people that didn’t know McAfee know him now. The audience ESPN reaches around the world is huge. Anyone wanting to watch sports or updates will always go to ESPN channel so Patrick’s feelings doesn’t make his statement true. Sometimes Pat’s feelings get in the way of and he makes statements that are not truthful. Adam needs to stick to his guns when he knows he’s right and not get backed down like Pat did to him.
